Dorcy Metal Gear
1 Watt Luxeon LED Flashlight

The Dorcy 1 Watt Luxeon Star LED flashlight is made of aluminum, comes
in silver and black
and runs on 3AAA cells (included). It is 5 1/4" long, has a
polycaronate lens and a pocket clip.

The body is a hex shape, that along with the clip keep it from rolling
when you set it down.
The on/off switch is on the tail end of the light and clicks on, it
allows for "flash" only when
in the on position, and click again for off.

The Metal Gear uses a smooth reflector that does produce some ring
artifacts.
The artifacts aren't that bad, and don't really cause a distraction in
normal use.
The bezel is held on with silicone, so you can unscrew it if you try
hard enough.
It's not very hard to swap LED's if you want to use the light as a host
for another LED.

The Metal Gear uses a battery holder/carrier that holds 3AAA cells
together
giving the light a shorter profile than if the 3 cells were stacked
lenghtwise.

Here are two Dorcy Metal Gear flashlights compared against the
Taskforce 1W
flashlight that Lowes sells. The Taskforce uses an optic instead
of a reflector.

Run time with NiMH rechargeables is a little over 2 hours with the
Rayovac cells I used.
Run time with Alkalines will be longer but at a lower brightness level .
Lithium e2 energizer batteries should run the longest but also cost the
most.
