Afrikan Kultural Arts Network

******

I would like to invite you to become a member of the Afrikan Kultural Arts Network(AKAN). We are a network of positive progressive people of Afrikan descent that understand the value of a positive relationship with one another and with the community. We are a national organization with international supporters. AKAN hosts various types of events throughout the world, many of which you may find a great deal of interest in and may want to participate in. I am sure that you will see that we are about growth and upliftment.

As a result of my tours and my research my organization and I have been featured in several magazines and newspapers and on radio and television shows including the New York Amsterdam News, NY Trend, WLIB, WSSB. KFPT, WBAI, WHCR, WVGB, and WWRL radio stations, New York Vibes and Under the Sun television shows, Essence, about...time, Class, and Upscale(Nov. 1993) magazines to name a few. I have also inspired national magazines such as Essence(October 1993) and Upscale(February 1994) to write feature stories on the Underground Railroad.

We are prepared to rebuild our community as the Akan people of the Motherland did. Our overall focus is toward economic empowerment in the Afrikan community-at-large and we attempt to do our part in this through our various modes of supporting the arts and the businesses of our people. In order for you to take part in helping AKAN support the arts and businesses of the community of people of African descent you need to fill out an application and submit it to the AKAN membership committee for approval.

You do not need to send dues with the application. Once you are approved there is a one year membership fee which is $40*. The dues includes:
