Welcome
Terrayne Crawford is most recognized as Beth Chavez the ill fated love interest of the handsome werewolf Quentin Collins on the very popular ABC TV Series "DARK SHADOWS" (1966-1971)...
Currently Terrayne is a minister and continues her advocacy work through her organization One World Media at the United Nations (NY, Geneva, Vienna, Paris) and with other organizations in the US and around the world utilizing the media to encourage the full realization of the human rights of children and youth. Terrayne believes that media is a very powerful tool for change and believes that it is very important that young peoples voices be heard through the media so that their ideas and experiences can help bring about the positive changes so needed in the world.
As Terrayne and her partners in this work have interviewed and filmed young people over the past six years in many different countries, the children and youth have expressed that it is very empowering for them to have someone caring enough to listen to them and share their experiences with others. It gives them hope that there can be a better future for everyone. They asked also if they could help expand the work by learning how to use media themselves to learn to write articles, do radio and TV interviews to use the internet and to have outlets for their work. They also asked for a way to stay in touch with each other so they don't feel so alone.
Answering this call from children and youth, Terrayne and her co-director Debra Kreuter, have been developing an organization called Young Media Partners (YMP). YMP is a not-for profit international membership association of young reporters (ages 13-26) in broadcast, print and electronic media headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. The main criteria for membership is the desire of a young person to use their skills and talents in media to inform and uplift audiences with a goal of creating a more humane, peaceful and just global society.
Terrayne continues to do video work herself and has just completed a video on the participation of 15 teenage girls in a major women's conference at the United Nations in New York City. The girls representing all major regions of the world came to share their struggles, hopes and dreams for a better future for themselves and the world's children. Their stories brought tears to everyone present and a commitment to do something to make this a better world. These girls and many organizations will use the video to help inform and educate others in their communities.
Debra and Terrayne would love your support through prayer and contributions such as tax deductible donations, equipment (computers, fax machines, scanners, audio & video recording & editing eqipment, 35mm digital cameras). Financial contributions will be used to provide membership for young people with no means ($25 yr), to help the costs of organizing and facilitating youth media teams for training materials and telecommunication costs.
