The Super Goddess Demon Fighters!

     It was another hot, August morning.  Yawning, Jennifer leaned her head on her hand as she began to doze off during her Summer school math class.  A student sitting a few rows away tossed a crumpled up piece of paper at her head, and she slowly opened her eyes to see her teacher standing over her.  Quickly Jennifer opened up her textbook as her classmates giggled, and Ms. Applestein returned to the blackboard to continue her lesson.  Jennifer only pretended to pay attention until the teacher turned her back however, then to escape the boredom she started gazing out the window.  Suddenly the sky became dark, and a chilling feeling shot through her.  Immediately she raised her hand, interrupting Ms. Applestein to ask her to go to the bathroom.  In annoyance, she waved her permission, and Jennifer hurriedly left the room.

     Quickly Jennifer locked the girls bathroom door to ensure that she wouldn't get caught.  Standing by the sinks, she held the blue gem that hung around her neck.  It began to glow so brightly that the entire room was illuminated in blue light.  Quietly, she spoke into into the gem to her two best friends, Kisha, who was at a nearby park, and Ryoko, who was in the backroom of the library a few blocks away.  Before she could finish speaking to them, however, there was a large thunder crash that sounded like an explosion from somewhere outside, and the whole building shook. The sound of screaming voices now filled the hallways.

     Jennifer fought her way through the crowds of terrified teachers and students rushing to exit the building and steadily made her way up the stairway that led to the roof.  As soon as she came through the door, she had to hold on and cover her eyes, for an evil, violent wind blew.  High above in the clouds a vortex appeared and from it emerged a horrible, winged creature that flew towards the rooftop and landed only a few feet away from where Jennifer stood.  Hunching over and long-armed, it stood at least fifteen feet tall.  Spikes ran down it's tough, leathery back, and it's bat-like wings were spread, making it appear even more intimidating.  The long, reptilian tail whipped back and forth.  It's long course hair blew in the wind, and it stared down at her with burning, blood-red eyes.  Black steam rose from it's nostrils as it smiled, and it's long, forked-tongue licked over rows of razor-sharp teeth.  Jennifer knew that this was definitely a demon.

     Showing no fear, Jennifer stood her ground.  The demon accepted her silent challenge, and lunged at her with it's claws extended.  Jennifer was ready for him, and easily leapt out of the way as it tore the steel door to pieces with one stroke, sending shrapnel flying in every direction.  She landed a few feet behind the demon, and smiled arrogantly.  Infuriated that it missed, the demon turned for a second attack, this time with amazing speed.  Jennifer dodged his claws, but wasn't prepared for it's tail.  With one quick whip, she was sent sprawling to the floor.

     Jennifer shook her head, and looked up to see the demon's monstrous, dark green figure looming over her.  She attempted to move, but was pinned down by it's massive foot.  Jennifer became weak from the smell of it's body which was disgustingly nauseating.  Lightning struck as it lifted up it's claw, preparing to deliver the final blow. Unable to move, Jennifer shut her eyes to what was about to happen.  Unexpectedly she heard the demon roar out in agony. She opened her eyes to see the demon's beak wide open as it writhed in pain. It was trying to pull out a silver arrow that was lodged in its neck. The demon lifted it's foot and stepped back, and she quickly rolled away. The demon finally ripped the arrow out, and thick black blood splattered to the floor, burning it like acid. Jennifer smiled as her and the demon looked to the other side of the rooftop.

     Through the dust blowing in the wind, they could see two girls standing side-by-side, with a small white poodle at their feet.  They both were donned in thin dresses, girded high for speed.  The girl on the left wore all green and held a bow and a quiver of silver arrows on her back; the girl on the right was in all red, and held a spear.  Both wore similar gems around their necks as Jennifer's.  Super Artemis, the guardian of nature and animals, and Super Athena, the warrior of wisdom, had arrived.  They smiled at Jennifer and apologized for being late.  Then, weapons ready, they leapt into the air towards the roaring demon.  Jennifer brushed herself off and jumped to her feet as Paris, the poodle, ran over to her.  Panting, he advised her to take advantage of the demon's distraction to transform.  Jennifer nodded, and held up her blue gem as she yelled out the magic words.

     Suddenly, there was a burst of sparkling blue light that bathed the entire rooftop. Jennifer's clothes immediately tore off, and in there place appeared a similar outfit to the other two girls, but in blue.  The light died down, and Jennifer was now Super Aphrodite, the protectress of love and beauty!  She ran over to the fray to join her friends.  Together, they were the Super Goddess Demon Fighters!  Super Artemis had shot two arrows into the demon's eye socket's, leaving it to slash around blindly as Super Athena landed several wounds with her mighty spear.  

     Super Aphrodite knew that it was now her turn to finish it off.  She held out her hands and began to chant.  A ball of bright blue energy began to glow between her palms, and grew even bigger with each word.  Super Athena and Super Artemis leapt clear, and the demon, sensing the power, attempted to escape.  Super Aphrodite yelled out, and finally let forth the energy in one great blast.  The demon was stopped dead in it's tracks as it was struck in the back by the loving beam.  With a final, pathetic roar, it was consumed by the light and dispersed.  The demon was no more.

     Victorious, the girls yelled out triumphantly!  Around them the dark clouds vanished, and the wind died down to a gentle breeze.  Touching they're gems, they all reverted back to they're normal clothes.  Jennifer greeted and hugged her friends fondly, thanking them for they're help.  Jennifer exclaimed happily as she'd just realized that due to the incident, school would be out for the day.  The three girls and the poodle stepped over the shredded pieces of the door and headed down the stairway, arguing at whether they should get pizza, McDonald's, or head straight to the mall for a visit at the food court and then some major league shopping.
