Excellent Web Site! I put it up there with Frugal Squirrel's. I am a Network Admin working for Ferris State University. I just moved here from Grand Rapids Michigan (2nd largest city in Michigan behind Detroit). I gave up a $55,000 a year job for this $35,000/ yr position just to remove myself and family from the obvious threats present in a large city. My wife (we have a 9 month old baby) and I just purchased a small house on 9.5 acres only 3 mile from my work. It is .4 miles from the freeway (US 131), but it is to the west away from Big Rapids. My big goals is to beef up my garden and start preserving food. Next, with the help of your site, i plan on making a true Blast Shelter! I will be visiting your site a lot in the future. I found your site to be very interesting. I also enjoy TLC, read Nostrodomas, Cacey, Gordon Michael Scallion, bible prophecy etc. I am a single mom who knows we are in for "not a very good time" in the very near future and am trying to prepare. Very informative and sophisticated site. I just surfed in from Restore America BBS, somebody listed your site as a good place. They're correct. I'm presently living in west Houston, Texas; active in Texas Constitutional Militia. I lived in southeastern Washington State right on the Oregon border not too far from Umatilla National Forest. It was beautiful, but it was exceedingly difficult to make a living. Houston has plenty of work, but it is like living in a sewer: gangs, dope, drive-bys, irrational psycho neighbors. Being here is good for the pocketbook--but bad for the soul. Soon to depart for greener pastures, God willing. I'll recommend your site to friends. Regards, Zulu One Six.

Found this site recommended in Misc. Survivalism. Have not had the chance to veiw all of it, but what I've seen is very good. I have been interested in survivalism for quite some time now. I just have had this feeling that something serious is about to hapen. I have been trying to prepare for the "happenings" whatever they may be, but it is difficult when you don't seem to have enough time or money to accomplish the things you want. Some people think the same as I, some want to ignore the problem and maby it will go away (or not happen), and some just think you are plumb crazy. Pretty cool page you have here. There is a lot of accurate information here. I am a civil engineer living in Virginia and have been working on designing a shelter that's sole purpose is to protect a family of four from nuclear/bio/chem attack for up to a year. The design is about half way finished and I should have Auto-Cad renderings and plans up within the year. Although Even though I am not the sole designer, we have decided to make every thing free to help all people. Explicit instructions will be included for maintaining the shelter as well a document explaining the effects of nuclear weapons in complete detail, since the truth seems to be sketchy to many people. Hope somebody will be interested. We have put a lot of time and research into this project to make it the most survivable home shelter anywhere.

I will be back to the Blast Shelter and I will be bringing others. My Mother and I are two of those you mentioned who live in poverty. We also live in South Western Minnesota. Fewer tornades, but, horrible when they appear. After 3 years in South East Texas and 5 years here, we finally saw our first tornado. It was one too many. We are trying to save enough money to move west and buy a home or land and build. We know what is comming, including worse weather. We are survivers. We have to be. It has reached the point that I think God has forgotten that bit about no more than you can stand. If He hasn't, I guess that we are stronger than I thought.
