In recent years, I noticed the remarkable
similarities (physical and philosophical) between Nazis and Republicans. It
seems unlikely to be mere coincidence. Could it be.......reincarnation? I have
applied the Rush Limbaugh standards of truth and fairness (lies, half-truths,
smears, and distortions) in creating this page. Like Limbaugh says about his
own stuff, it's for entertainment purposes only.

Senator McCarthy set the style for the
Republican Party to this day, by attacking people with smear campaigns
and without proof to back up his charges. These came to be known as
"dirty tricks" during the 1970s, and are employed during election
campaigns. He was later censured (see

Instructions in a manual distributed during the 1990 election season
by Newt Gingrich's GOPAC advised GOP candidates to label their opponent
as a "sick, pathetic, liberal, incompetent, tax-spending traitor."
Other terms for use included "decay, unionized bureacracy, greed,
corruption, radical, permissive, and bizarre". They should refer
to themselves as "humane, visionary, confident, candid, hard-working
reformer". Their platforms should use terms such as "opportunity,
challenge, courage, pristine, principle(d), care(ing), common sense,
peace, and pioneer"
.
Lee Atwater used a no-holds-barred brand of dirty politics that survives
to this day. When he was dying of cancer, he repented for his past actions.

Bush campaign against Michael Dukakis:
"Lee used isolated facts out of context to create a negative view
of Massachusetts and its governor, painting Dukakis as the elitist in
the race: the creature of Harvard and the ACLU, too 'sophisticated'
to say the Pledge of Allegiance or to kneel in prayer. Dukakis had vetoed
a bill passed by the Massachusetts state legislature requiring teachers
to lead students in the Pledge of Allegiance in 1977, but the Bush campaign
treated the event as though it were recent. Bush stuck to Atwater's
script making the Pledge of Allegiance the centerpiece of his campaign.
He recited the Pledge constantly, attended the 'First Annual Flag Festival'
in Findlay, Ohio, [and] toured a flag factory in New Jersey."

quickly became a Wyoming resident in order to avoid violating the 12th
Amendment.
In the 1980s, Reagan cut taxes, but they
were offset by other tax hikes, which rarely get mentioned. Yet his legacy
impression is that he cut taxes. He was also for a balanced budget, yet
the national debt swelled because of his defense spending.
