(other members in the 60's were Tom Gifford and Robert Beron.) Chris Mares played drums in Not For Sale. Robert Hild assisted in 1997 with great vocals and electronic drums, Don Boomer (drums) played several gigs with the Imperials in 1997.
This Imperials picture with their Venture Model Mosrite Guitars was taken on the Carmel Beach around 1963. Tom Gifford the drummer on the right, was found in Los Angeles in October 1997.
On 8/15/97 Doug S. Snyder wrote to Ron:
"I think it shreds! I'm serious! You guys haven't missed a beat......Nice job! You guys ought'a be very proud of yourselves. Each song is fresh clean, as if they were done in the past with equipment from today. Trad, the way they should be, but also unique. Definitely a must have!! ..... "Endless Summer" "Mr. Moto" in particular! Not only are these two songs very seldom covered, but very seldom covered well. Bravo! A great debut!... Tell Doug (cool name) Jerry - way to go! Keep your instruments handy! THE IMPERIALS ARE STILL KINGS STILL RULE!"(The Imperials met Doug Snyder for the first time at the RT 66 Rendezvous 9/21/97)
