Succumbs at 94

Fred C. Kloepfer, 94, Watertown twp. Clinton county, MI - a pioneer farmer of the Grand Ledge area, died Wednesday evening, Nov. 29, 1961 at his home on Eaton Hwy.

Mr. Kloepfer, son of Charles and Elizabeth Kloepfer, was born on a farm in DeWitt twp. August 24, 1867. He was married to Christina Miller of DeWitt twp., April 19, 1893. Mr. and Mrs. Kloepfer celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in the spring of 1943. Mrs. Kloepfer preceded her husband in death passing away February 16, 1947.

After their marriage they lived on a farm in DeWitt twp. until the year 1911, when they moved to Mr. Kloepfer's present farm home in Watertown twp., on which he lived for the past 50 years.

He was a life long member of Emmanuel First Lutheran church of Lansing, to which he was very faithful.

Surviving are six children, Clarence C. Kloepfer, Donald F. Kloepfer and Mrs. Leon Garlock of Grand ledge; Mrs. Edmund T. Miller of Millett; Mrs. Arthur Sack and Mrs. Earl Foster both of Lansing; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a brother, August Kloepfer of DeWitt, also, several nieces and nephews.
