William Kleopfer was born June 30, 1866. He was a farmer and was married
to Ella Suter. (William’s brother, Philip, married Ella’s sister,
Ida Suter.)
Like most of the Kleopfer's, William was interested in politics and served
two terms as trustee of Republican township. On April 2, 1950, William died
at the age of 83. He is buried at Zoar cemetery. William and Ella had four
children. Their names were: Herman Jacob, Gale, Willard, and Lawrence. He
was remembered by his niece, Mary Margaret Kleopfer Tevis: "He lived with
and took care of grandmother for years. He and Phillip married sisters."

Rites Held Today At Zoar Church - For Wm. Kleopfer
Funeral services for William Kleopfer , 83, who died early Sunday after a
long illness at his home a mile south of Kent, were conducted this morning
at 10:30 o'clock at Zoar Methodist Church. The Rev. Woodall was in charge.
Burial was in the Zoar
Cemetery.
Pall bearers were Marvin, Ronald and Carroll Kleopfer, Hiram Whitsitt, Foster
Chitwood and Hubert Kuppler. Flower girls were members of a Zoar Sunday school
class. The deceased, a life long resident,of Jefferson county, was a member
of the Zoar church and served two terms as trustee of Republican Township.
He was a retired farmer. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ella Kleopfer; four
sons, Herman J. Kleopfer of Knoxville, Tenn.; Gale of Madison route three,
and Willard and Lawrence, of Kent; a brother, Charles Kleopfer, also of Kent;
a sister, Mrs. Margaret Schulte, of Cincinnati; seven grandchildren and a
great-grandchild.
