Kevin O'ROURKE AT THE STAGE DOOR AFTER
    A PERFORMANCE OF GUNSHY

This is Kevin O'Rourke (Scott Sherwood in AMC's Remember WENN) outside the Broadway stage door of the Playwrights Horizons Theatre, after a performance of Gun-Shy on Feb 15, 1998.

Kevin replaced an actor (Jeffrey DeMunn) who had to beg out of the 5 person production of Gun-shy, at the last minute.  So there were not as many "Kevin" souvenirs as one might have hoped.  The Playbill had already been printed with DeMunn's bio, so Kevin's bio was relegated to a paper insert. There were NO cast or production photos in the Playbill.  =(  Even the lobby cards had been printed with the wrong name, so the correct leading cast names had to be reprinted on black paper and pasted over the original names.  The funny thing is that they didn't just put Kevin's name over DeMunn's because (I'm guessing) union rules require alphabetical listing of cast.  So Mr. O had to be placed after  costars Christopher Innvar and Jessalyn Gilsig.

I couldn't get to New York to see the show, but my sister Bonnie, was already going.  I only had to say that Kevin was in Gun-shy  and she volunteered to see it for me!  What are sisters for, after all?  She took my camera and was instructed to take a photo of Kevin — I knew we *all* wanted to see what he looks like "in real life" — and get a Playbill autographed.

Gun-shy  is a 5-person romantic comedy, about a divorced couple (Maryann Urbano & Kevin O'Rourke), and their new significant others, and how they interact during the weekend of the divorced couple's only child's birthday.  (He gets snowed in by a blizzard at military school and never appears on stage.) True to all romantic comedy's there is a lot of humor, and the couple ends up back together by the end of the last act.=) My sister Bonnie, gave it two thumbs up, saying: "It was very, VERY good! Very funny!"

She was also instructed to ask a few questions: (The answers are paraphrases based on my sister's recountings... "Please Bonnie, tell me *again* what Kevin said...)

1. Who was shot in Happy Homecomings?

Kevin's response:  "I don't know, I certainly hope it's NOT me!  They didn't tell us.  I won't get the script until Monday, March 2nd. We start filming the new season on March 9th."

2. Was Victor's gun supposed to be unloaded?

Kevin's response:  "You could tell that it wasn't loaded?" (Bonnie mentioned that it was easy to see the empty chamber during the extreme close up of Scott.)  "The prop man said you wouldn't be able to tell it wasn't loaded.  I guess he was wrong.  I'll make sure and tell him you DID notice!" ;-)

3. May I take your picture, please, and will you sign this Playbill?

Kevin's response:  "Are you sure this is all for your sister?"

Kevin, thank you for being soooo kind and patient with my sister!
