Welcome to a visit of ReignBeau Hounds. We hope you enjoy your visit.
We are Cindy & Richard Najera. We live by the Texas Gulf Coast in the tropical land of heat & humidity. Our name, ReignBeau, was established in 1983 with our first litter of Afghan Hounds. Our first dog, an Afghan Hound, was obtained in 1982. A very beautiful shaded masked red bitch by the name of Venus. Her registered name was Centauri's Bashful Venus. Shortly after we got her, we were offered a Saluki that Richard fell in love with when we went to pick up Venus. Her name was Centauri's Facet of Hajji. Her call name was Tai. She was a black & silver grizzle which later would obtain a red tint of undercoat. We showed her to her championship with 5 majors!! I Cindy, was such a novice back then, didn't know what a major was. But what a way to get very spoiled in the dog show game & what a wake up call it was while showing the Afghans of how easy it is NOT! Venus was bred once, giving me a litter of 8 pups. The pups were nice, but those were in the days where it took alot of competition to finish & none of that litter ever did. They had some nice wins though. Tai was bred twice & gave me two litters. Also this was the beginning of the end of a normal life....
To date we've produced 15 Saluki Champions. 14 of those are homebred champions from only 3 litters! These include top 10 ranked winners with National wins to their credits. Also includes specialty winners, & group winners. To date, we've only produced 3 saluki litters - hopefully if all goes well, we will have another litter on the ground next year, spring of 2002.
Well now it's time to take a tour of each of our k9 kidz. Each & every one is very special to us. You'll also find a couple of rescue dogs that we've saved & a few cats :-)
