Aftermath

by Tim, Kate, and Linda

DISCLAIMER: This story is based upon the series, Charmed, that was created by Constance M. Burge. All Charmed characters are the property of Spelling Productions.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Many have expressed disappointment that the season premier left out vital details from the third season cliffhanger. These include the escape from the Underworld, the attempt to save Prue's life, and the immediate aftermath of her death. This interactive story, I hope, will fill this gap. This idea was suggested by Linda, and I thank her for it. The events of this story pick off right after the events of the third season cliff hanger, All Hell Breaks Loose.

Phoebe and Leo were still waiting anxiously, when Cole came back into the cave. "Well?" Phoebe asked: "Did the Source agree to my terms?"

"Yes, he did." Cole replied: "Phoebe, please consider this? You will have to stay here forever."

"Look, Cole, I know the risks. But if it involves saving my sister, then it's worth it."

"Well..." Cole began and then broke off as the Source's bodyguard entered the cave. "Well?" Cole asked.

"It is done." the bodyguard replied: "Time has been reversed. Now...." he broke off and suddenly shot energy bolts at Cole and Leo. Both men collapsed, stunned.

"What have you done?" Phoebe screamed as she rushed to Cole's side: "We had an agreement."

"You stupid witch." the bodyguard sneered: "You didn't really think the Source would keep an agreement with a pathetic creature like yourself. He has given me orders to kill you, and that is what I will do now." the bodyguard raised his hand and was about to strike, when he was clubbed from behind and fell to the ground, out cold.

"Thank yo..." Phoebe began and then broke off when she saw who it was: "But... How...."

"Hello, Phoebe." Rex Buckland said as he and Hannah Webster entered the cave: "It's good to see you again."

"Uh... Since when do you two help witches?" Phoebe asked, remembering Rex and Hannah's attempt to kill her and her sisters, almost three years ago.

"A lot has happened since you last saw us." Hannah said as she helped Leo to his feet. "Rex and I have had a change of heart."

"The Insurgents!" Cole said, as he got to his feet: "I had heard rumors, but nothing more."

"The Insurgents?" a puzzled Leo asked.

"A group of dissident Warlocks who have grown tired of the status quo." Cole explained: "Their ultimate aim is to overthrow the Source and the Infernal Council, and make peace between the sides of good and evil."

"Sounds like a good cause." Phoebe said and turned to Rex: "Maybe we can work together and..."

"There is no time to chat right now." Rex said quickly: "You and the others must return to Halliwell Manor right away, but I'm afraid it may be too late."

"What do you mean?" Leo asked.

"I mean that one of the Charmed Ones may have already been lost. Hurry, you must go!"

"What about you?" Phoebe asked.

"Rex and I must return to our base and gather our followers together." said Hannah: "We will contact you when the time is right."

"You heard them." Cole said quickly and gathered Phoebe in his arms. The two of them shimmered out, and Leo orbed out.

"Do you think they will make it back in time?" Hannah asked Rex

"I don't think so, Hannah." Rex said, sadly shaking his head. He took her hand. "Come, there is much work to be done." The two Warlocks hurried on their way.

When Phoebe, Cole, and Leo materialized at Halliwell Manor, they saw the still forms of Prue and Piper lying on the floor, covered in blood. The body of Dr. Griffiths lay in the dining room. Clearly the delay the Source's bodyguard had caused them in escaping had given Shax the time needed to attack. Leo quickly headed for Prue and Piper while Cole headed over to where Dr. Griffiths was lying. "He's dead." Cole said after a few seconds of examining the doctor's body.

"Then there is nothing I can do for him." Leo said grimly, and turned his attention back to Piper and Prue.

"Please, Leo, save them." Phoebe said as she watched Leo begin his healing of her sisters. After a few seconds, the blood disappeared on Piper and she opened her eyes, but for Prue, nothing happened.

"Phoebe?" Piper said as she sat up: "What is going on here? What happened?" Then she turned and saw Prue, and her face went white as milk. Piper watched as Leo, his face full of sorrow, stopped his attempts to heal Prue. "Why did you stop?" Piper asked, already knowing the answer.

"Piper, Phoebe, I'm so sorry." Leo uttered, his voice full of sadness and defeat: "But it's too late, there is nothing I can do for Prue." he paused and looked both of them in the eyes: "She's gone."

"Gone!? What do you mean she's gone?" Piper asked, the fear evident in her voice: "You save her! Now!"

"Piper, you know I can't heal the dead."

"Prue is not dead!" Piper cried: "She can't be!"

"Piper...." Leo began, reaching for his wife.

"Don't touch me!" Piper said, pulling away. The anguish of loss was clearly etched in her face.

"No." Phoebe said slowly: "This isn't happening. This is not happening!" Slowly, Cole came over and took her in his arms. Silence descended, as everyone realized that someone dear to them was now gone.

BETWEEN WORLDS

Prue was not quite sure what had happened as she looked around the misty void. The last thing she remembered was being at the Manor, when Shax attacked. Now she was here, wherever this was. Suddenly, a familiar figure emerged from the mist, Prue was amazed when she saw who it was: "Andy!" Prue said, running to towards him: "It's so good to see you! How did you get here? In fact, where is here?"

"Hi, Prue." Andy said as he took her in his arms: "It's good to see you too. As to where you are, I think they can answer your questions better than I can."

"Huh?" Prue said as she turned around and saw her mother and grandmother, Patty and Penny Halliwell, standing there. "Mom? Grams? What's going on?"

"Hello, my darling." Penny said as she and Patty came towards Prue: "It's time you were told what has happened."

"What do you mean 'What has happened?'" Prue asked confusedly: "Are Piper and Phoebe okay?" Penny, Patty, and Andy exchanged looks, wondering where to begin. Patty sat on a intricately carved stone bench. "Well?" Prue asked.

"Sit down." Patty said as she patted the spot beside her lightly. Prue sat. "Honey, this is never easy. But this is where you belong now, you are with us, your life has come to a close." She gently tucked a strand of her daughter's hair behind her ear. Prue shook her head in disbelief, too overcome to speak for a few moments, to truly accept what she was hearing.

"Your mother is right." Penny added: "Your time on Earth is over, it's time for you to join us."

"What about Piper and Phoebe?" Prue began, shakily: "They're in danger! Someone's gotta help them! And what about us? The Charmed Ones? How are we to save the innocent if I can't help anymore? Damn it! I want to live! They need me! This isn't fair... it's not fair! Everyone is always leaving in our lives... and now it's me who has left... and I want to go back, dammit! WHY can't you send me back? I need to go back, Mom." Prue lay her head in Patty's lap, but her body remained rigid. The more she thought about the way things were, the more she rebelled at her fate. She pulled away from Patty and started to pace in front of the others. Patty restrained herself from trying to reach out to her again. She knew her headstrong daughter would have to come to grips with the situation in her own time. "This just can't be." said Prue, her eyes filled with disbelief. "There must be some way I can get the Elders to understand that they have made a huge mistake. How are Piper and Phoebe going to protect themselves now? Have the Elders deserted us? I want to talk to them. Mom, Grams, please take me to see them."

"I'm sorry, sweetie." Patty said softly: "This is the way thing are to be."

"Why?" shouted Prue. "What right do they have to do this to us? They aren't just killing me, Phoebe and Piper will surely be killed without our combined powers. They can't protect themselves. They need the Power Of Three."

"Darling, they are not going to be alone." said Grams soothingly. "You will see. There is another who will be there to complete the circle again."

"What? Who? What are you talking about, Grams?" questioned Prue.

"You have another sister. Actually a half-sister." said Patty with a smile. "She was born right before I died. She is Sam's daughter. We had to hide her from the Elders, so we took her to a church right after she was born. We couldn't tell you. She is part Halliwell and part white lighter, and her powers will be great. The truth will be revealed to Piper and Phoebe. They will have to fight to save her soul from the Source, but they will win. It will be okay."

"Mom!" whispered Prue in shock: "How could you...." Her voice trailed off as she heard a voice rising up through the mist.

"Prue...NO DAMN IT NO... Prue come back! Please... come back. Don't leave me all alone." the voice of Piper wailed. Then there was another voice. "She's gone baby, she's gone. Piper, listen to me." said Leo softly.

"Oh God!" Prue cried out in anguish: "I can hear her crying! How can I get to her? I have to let her know I can hear her."

"No, darling." said Grams firmly. "You can't go. It is forbidden. She needs time to heal. To accept the fact that you're gone. I will go when it is time."

ELSEWHERE

The hooded figure of the Source smiled. "It is done. The Charmed Ones will be a threat no more." He then began to laugh. "Evil will reign, and I will be unstoppable." He then turned to a servant next to him. "Gather the bounty hunters. I want Belthazor's head delivered to me. He is a traitor. Bring me his witch too. It will be a time for great celebration." the Source roared as he began to laugh again.

"Yes, it shall be done." Tane, the servant, replied and left the room. The Source was content that soon the Charmed Ones would be finished once and for all.

Tane did not immediately go to gather the bounty hunters, but rather he went to a hidden cave, where Rex, Hannah, and a group of their followers were waiting. "Your report, Tane?" Rex asked.

"It's just as you said." replied Tane: "The Source has ordered me to send the bounty hunters after Belthazor and his witch."

"Thank you, Tane." Rex replied.

"Long live the Insurgents!" Tane said as he left the cave.

"Now what?" Hannah asked.

"Clearly, Belthazor and Phoebe have to be warned. We'll send a courier to deliver a message." Quickly, Rex pulled out a piece of paper, and began to write the message: "Hopefully they will get this message in time."

BACK ON EARTH

At Halliwell Manor, Cole was watching Phoebe, Piper, and Leo work through their grief, when suddenly he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned and saw a Warlock standing there. Before Cole could react, the Warlock took out a piece of paper, handed it to Cole, and vanished. Slowly, Cole read what was on the paper and said: "I hate to say this at this time, but we could be having some guests."

"What do you mean?" Piper asked, tears streaming down her face.

"I've just been given a message from the Insurgents. If what they say is true, we are facing imminent attack."

"Why?" Piper asked: "What's the point? They've won. The Power Of Three is no more! Why don't they leave us alone?"

"Because as long as any of you are alive, you still constitute a threat to the Source." Cole replied: "He wants to make sure that the Charmed Ones are gone forever. He also still wants me for treason."

"Yeah, well.... LOOK OUT!" Phoebe shouted as a bounty hunter materialized behind Cole. Quickly, Cole whirled around and took the hunter out with an energy ball. Another hunter appeared in front of Piper, and was quickly blown up by her new power. A third grabbed Phoebe from behind, but Phoebe head butted the hunter and watched as the creature crashed to the floor. Before it could get up again, it was dispatched by Cole.

"That was close." Cole said as he looked around: "Unfortunately, they will try again. We'll have to be ready."

"There is something we else we need to do first." Phoebe said as she headed towards the phone.

At the police station, Darryl Morris was going through some reports, when his phone rang. Quickly, he picked it up: "Morris."

"Darryl, it's Phoebe, something terrible has happened. Please come to the Manor right away."

"What's wrong?" Darryl asked, sensing the sadness in Phoebe's voice.

"I'd rather not say over the phone. Please come."

"Okay, Phoebe, you hang on. I'll be there as soon as possible." Darryl promised.

BETWEEN WORLDS

"Well at least they fought off those bounty hunters." Prue said with relief: "But I'm puzzled, just who are these Insurgents that Cole mentioned."

"Funny you should mention that, Prue." Penny said: "Because their leader has just arrived to give us an update." Penny stepped aside, and Prue's mouth dropped open when she saw Rex standing there: "I take it you remember Rex?" Penny said.

"Remember him!? He tried to kill us!" Prue said with anger: "What the hell is going on here, Grams!?"

"Rex has changed a great deal since you last saw him." Penny replied.

"It's true." Patty added: "Rex now leads a group of dissident Warlocks called the Insurgents. They are a growing movement aimed at bringing down the Source. Rex actually helped Phoebe escape from the Source."

"Just hear him out, Prue." added Andy: "That's all we ask."

"Is what they say true, Rex?" Prue asked her former enemy.

"Yes, it is." Rex replied: "You see, after you defeated us that night at the Auction House, Hannah and I were punished. We were tortured without end for fifty years ."

"Fifty years?" Prue asked: "But it's been only...."

"Time is different in the Underworld." Rex said grimly: "Needless to say, during that torture, Hannah and I opened our eyes. We realized that the Source was nothing more than a ruthless dictator, looking out only for himself. He cares nothing for the people he oppresses, my people."

"Sure took you long enough to realize that." Prue said sarcastically.

"Charismatic dictators do have power over the views of people." Rex countered: "Look how Hitler managed to sway most of Germany to his insane ideals."

"Good point." conceded Prue.

"Anyway." Rex said, resuming his story: "Hannah and I soon found out we were not alone in our views. We found many a Warlock who hated the Source and wanted to be free from his tyrannical rule. We got together, got organized, and founded our movement, the Insurgents."

"But what does all that have to do with us, the Charmed Ones?" Prue asked.

"What it means is that the Source is now fighting a war on two fronts." Rex replied: "He will have to divide his forces, weaken his power base. It will take time, Prue, but I am confident that in the end, we will win."

"Well put, Rex." Penny said: "But now I think you should give us an update."

"Right." Rex said and continued: "From what we can tell, the Source is still unaware of the existence of the fourth Halliwell sister. But I don't think that will remain the case for long. We have an agent in deep cover, close to the Source. She constantly feeds us information."

"And who is this agent? If I may ask?" Prue wondered.

"The Oracle." Rex replied, grinning: "She's really one of us, an Insurgent. Well that's all I have to report for now, I have to go back. Good luck to you all." With those words, Rex vanished.

"Okay, this is a lot to take in." Prue said slowly. She turned back to Penny: "Grams, could you please show me this fourth sister. I would like to see what she looks like."

"Sure." Penny said and waved a hand. A picture began to form in the mist, a picture of a young dark haired woman: "This is your half-sister." Penny began: "Her name is Paige." Prue leaned forward and peered through the mist. Slowly a face began to appear. Prue stared at the face of the girl before her. "She's so young." she stammered.

"Sweetie, she's not much younger than Phoebe was when the three of you received your powers." Patty reminded her.

"Yes, and Phoebe had a lot to learn." Prue snapped. "We all did. Paige could very well put Piper and Phoebe in danger. I just can't believe you would keep this from us, Mom!" said Prue, her voice rising in anger.

"Hush now, Prue." Grams said firmly. "We didn't tell you because we couldn't. Besides, there was no need to reveal our secret. There's no telling what the Elders might have done. It was best to hide her from all of you. Now she is here when she is needed the most. She may be young, but she will be powerful and she is a Halliwell by blood. She will make the Charmed Ones whole again. Your sisters are not as vulnerable as the Source thinks. He will get word of Paige's existence, but Piper and Phoebe will win this battle. Have faith in your sisters dear. All of them."

"She's right." a reassuring voice said. Prue felt a hand rest on her shoulder. She turned to look up into Andy's face. He smiled gently at her and pulled her near. "You have to believe that things will work out, Prue. Your sisters have their powers, the Elders, the Insurgents, and a lot of people who care about them, looking out for them. Please try to relax. This is where you belong now. You are with people who love you and so are they. Come on, let me show you around." Andy said with a small smile.

"You mean there's more here to see than just mist?" Prue said rolling her eyes.

"Oh for heavens sake, Prue! Let Andy help you." Grams muttered. Prue finally nodded her head and walked away, arm and arm with Andy.

BACK ON EARTH

At Halliwell Manor, Cole and Phoebe were engaged in a heated discussion in the corner of the living room. "You can't leave me, Cole! What if a bounty hunter kills you. I just lost my sister, for God's sake. I need you."

"Staying here puts all of you in danger!" protested Cole. Phoebe was holding on to him for dear life, and the pain in her eyes cut into his heart. "Phoebe, please be reasonable."

"No!" she insisted. "Absolutely not. You're staying. You may attract bounty hunters, but you are the only one who is prepared to defend us. The Source isn't too happy with me either. Don't you think they might be looking for me too? Please, Cole, you can't go." Phoebe insisted. Cole looked around the room and realized Phoebe was right. Piper was in a deep state of shock. Leo held her to keep her anchored to reality. The Manor was in ruins and Prue's still form lay in the midst of it all. He was needed here. He would protect all of them with his life. A loud knock sounded on the door. Phoebe and Cole turned towards the front of the Manor and saw that Darryl was standing at the ruined door, his face full of shock at the scene within. It was then that they saw the other face peering in, one they did not recognize. Phoebe's heart sunk in her chest.

"I tried to get here first." Darryl said slowly: "But the 911 call came in at the same time as your call did." The sound of approaching sirens could be heard through the shattered windows. Darryl moved quickly to where Prue lay amidst the rubble. He automatically checked for a pulse, but he knew she was gone. Leo would have healed her if he could have. Today his friends had lost their battle with evil. Darryl's grief welled up inside him and he couldn't speak, tears began to flow down his cheeks. He pushed a stray lock of hair off Prue's forehead while he tried to think.

"What in the name of God happened here?" The other officer, who had followed Darryl to the scene, asked: "Your neighbors called 911 to report that all of the windows had blown out. I'll radio for some ambulances. Does that woman have a pulse? Have any of you checked the gentleman over there?" he asked, pointing to the body of Dr. Griffiths. The officer's questions were greeted with silence as the stunned people in the room turned towards him. "Well?" the newcomer asked.

"Just who the hell are you?" Phoebe asked.

"Inspector Cortez, Homicide." the stranger said, flashing his badge: "I'm going to have to ask you all some questions. Now...." Cortez broke off, as Darryl took his arm: "What the hell are you doing?"

"This is my case." Darryl said sternly: "I would appreciate it if you let me handle it."

"Your case? Since when?"

"I've handled cases involving the Halliwells in the past."

"Ah, yes. The so-called Freaky Cases." Cortez said, nodding his head: "I heard about all those strange unsolved cases you and Trudeau investigated. I suppose this will be another one."

"Well, whatever it will be, the fact remains this is my case." Darryl reasserted.

"Well we'll just see what the captain has to say about that!" Cortez said, before turning around and walking out of the house, almost colliding with the arriving Medical personnel. Quickly, the Medical people went about looking after the two bodies.

"Thanks, Darryl." Phoebe said in a grateful voice.

"Don't thank me yet, Phoebe." Darryl said grimly: "I have a feeling that Cortez is going to follow through on his threat to talk to the captain."

"Well, I guess we'll just have to see what happens." Phoebe said. Everyone remained silent as they watched the black bags containing the bodies of Prue and Dr. Griffiths being wheeled out of the Manor.

"I think you should call your father and tell him what happened." Darryl said after a few minutes.

"I've tried." Phoebe replied: "He's not home. I've tried to leave a message at his answering service, but how can you tell someone a message like this in a recording?" No one had an answer.

Several hours later, a tired Victor Bennett arrived home at his apartment. He had been out of town all day at a business meeting. He was looking forward to some rest and relaxation, but those plans were cancelled when Victor saw the spirit of his late wife, Patty Halliwell, standing in his living room. The look on Patty's face said it all. "Patty? What's happened? Has something happened to the girls?" Victor asked, fearing what the answer would be.

"Victor, there is something you have to know." Patty began sadly.

Half an hour later, the doorbell at Halliwell Manor rang. Phoebe answered it, and saw Victor standing there, tears lining his face. "Dad." Phoebe said: "How did you... How could you have....." she trailed off.

"Your mother told me." Victor said as he came into the house: "I can't believe it. How could this have happened?"

"It was a demon called Shax." Phoebe said: "Prue and Piper were trying to protect an innocent. Shax attacked, and Prue..... Prue died."

"I knew this would happen." Victor said, bitterness creeping into his voice: "I knew that once you three got those damned powers, you would be in danger. Why didn't I try to talk your grandmother out of it?"

"Dad, you did try." Phoebe pointed out: "Grams was determined that we would discover our legacy. There was nothing you could have done."

"I should have tried harder. First it killed Patty, and now Prue! The price of getting these powers is just too damned high!"

"Dad." Phoebe said softly: "Prue would not want us to regret getting our powers. These powers were gifts, special gifts. Passed down through our family for hundreds of years. We couldn't give that up."

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Victor said, realizing that Phoebe was right: "But it still doesn't make the pain any easier."

"No, it doesn't." Phoebe said: "Now let's go into the room. Cole, Darryl, Piper, and Leo are waiting."

As the days passed, everyone got ready for Prue's funeral. No one knew just what lay around the corner for the Charmed Ones, now that Prue was gone. At least no one knew yet.

ELSEWHERE

At the secret base of the Insurgents, Rex and Hannah were meeting with the Oracle. "I'm sorry I couldn't get away sooner." said the Oracle: "But I had to make sure I wasn't being followed."

"I understand." Rex replied: "What is it you have to report?"

"I've been stalling for time in locating the fourth Halliwell sister for the Source. However, I cannot delay much longer without the Source becoming suspicious."

"I see." Rex said, nodding his head: "Well the only thing you can do is tell the Source, because I understand that the Charmed Ones themselves will soon know about her. They will be able to protect her."

BACK ON EARTH

As soon as Darryl got the notice to report to Captain Hawkins, he knew what it was going to be about. When he entered the captain's office, he saw that Inspector Cortez was already there. "Sit down, Morris." Captain Hawkins said, indicating a chair next to the one Cortez was sitting in: "Inspector Cortez tells me that you took over the case at the Halliwell house. Is that true?" Captain Hawkins asked.

"Yes, it is." Darryl replied: "Since I have handled many cases involving the Halliwells in the past, I thought it best that..."

"You thought wrong." the captain said, cutting Darryl off: "Many of those cases remain unsolved. Can you explain to me why?"

"Sorry, I can't." Darryl said. At least not without revealing the Halliwell's secret. He added in his mind.

"Well then, I think that perhaps on this occasion a new officer should be assigned to the investigation of the murders at the Halliwell residence. As of now, Inspector Cortez is handling the case. Are we clear on this, Morris?"

"Yes, sir." Darryl replied bitterly. In his mind, he knew that things had just gotten a lot more complicated for the Halliwell sisters. Hopefully he would be able to keep them from being exposed to the world.

"Thank you, sir." Cortez said to the captain. Then, with a smug smile on his face, Cortez turned to Darryl and said: "Now if you'll excuse me, I have a murder case to solve."

It was a typical day at the office, and Paige Matthews had been going about her daily routine. When she turned around and spotted the newspaper lying on the floor, at first she thought nothing about it. Picking the paper up, Paige spotted the obituary on it. Prudence Halliwell. Paige thought as she read the obit: 1970-2001. Could this be from the same Halliwell family whom I once thought my birth mother belonged to? Paige remembered considering the Halliwells as her birth family, but had ruled it out when she realized their mother had died years ago. She had even visited their club, P3, a few times. Paige resumed her thinking: I had pretty much figured they were not my real family, but then here this obituary turns up out of nowhere. Could it be a coincidence? There is only one way to find out, this obituary mentions where and when the funeral will be held. I think I'll go pay my respects.

So it came to be that Paige Matthews went to the funeral, and soon she would discover not only her true family, but her true destiny.

EPILOGUE: ELSEWHERE, A FEW WEEKS LATER

Rex and Hannah stood in the secret base of the Insurgents, and watched as the Oracle materialized out of a cloud of mist. "Welcome back, Oracle." Rex said, grinning.

"Thank you." replied the Oracle: "I see our plan worked."

"Yes, it did." Rex said, nodding his head: "An instant before Belthazor's energy ball hit you, we teleported you away. As far as the Source is concerned, you're destroyed."

"That's good to hear. I had to convince the Source I was loyal to him." The Oracle paused and then asked: "Was the oldest Halliwell sister successfully rescued?"

"Yes, she was. Belthazor and the white lighter, Leo, have succeeded in rescuing Piper." Hannah said: "They have transported her back to Earth. However, we must not celebrate just yet. The Source may be injured, but he is still not defeated."

"There is something you should know." the Oracle continued: "Something I haven't had the chance to tell you until now. Since you helped Belthazor and the others escape, the Source's position is being challenged by other factions, vying for control."

"Really?" Rex asked.

"Yes. I think we can use this to our advantage." The Oracle said with confidence: "I hate the Source so much! I sickened me that I had to pretend to be loyal as long as I did."

"Well you did your job well, Oracle." Rex said as he placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder: "You've earned a rest now. Go and enjoy it."

"Thank you." replied the Oracle: "Long live the Insurgents!" With that proclamation, the Oracle turned and walked away.

"Well isn't that interesting." Rex said, stroking his chin.

"It seems the Source has more problems than we realized." Hannah added.

"Correct." replied Rex: "Now it seems that the Source is fighting a war on three fronts: The Charmed Ones, us, and now these new factions. This will further weaken his power base, and make our job so much easier." He turned and placed his hands on Hannah's cheeks: "Hannah, it looks like we have a good chance at winning this struggle."

"I'm glad, Rex. Soon we will have freedom for our people."

"Come, Hannah." Rex said as he placed his hands on her cheeks: "We must tell the others. This is only the beginning, the beginning of the end for the Source."
