- What did the inscription on the spirit board say?
To my three beautiful girls
May this give you the light to find the Shadows
The power of three will set you free
Love Mom- What did the incantation that gave the sisters their powers say?
Phoebe reads the following from the Book of Shadows in the attic of their home during the storm in the first episode:
Hear now the words of the witches
The secrets we hid in the night
The oldest of gods are invoked here
The great work of magic is sought
In the night and in this hour
I call upon the ancient power
Bring your powers to we sisters three
We want the power
Give us the power- What the symbol on the Book of Shadows mean?
In Witch Trial (2.01), the symbol is called the Triquetra, which is suppose to represent the Power of Three on the show according to Phoebe early in the show. Later in the episode Prue suggests the Triquetra represents the three of them working as one.
Another source states, the Triquetra is a feminine symbol of protection from evil, formed by three yonic vesicas. Depending on the version of the symbol, the Triquetra can appear with or without a circle, see the images below. The three vesicas represent the triple Goddess and if used, the circle represents eternity.

The same symbol also appears in Led Zeppelin's fourth album, the one with Stairway to Heaven, along with three other symbols, shown here:

Each symbol is suppose to represent a member of the band, Page, Jones, Bonham, and Plant from left to right. Plant and Page created their own symbols, but the two in the middle were taken from a book of runes. Jones' symbol, the symbol that appears on the Book of Shadows is said to represent confidence and competence and it also appears on the cover of a book about the Rosicrucians. Bonham's rune represents the man, wife and child trilogy. For wiccan purposes this last meaning of the symbol is probably not accurate.- Where can I get a picture of that symbol?
Besides the images above, this is the only other one I currently have of good quality:
