When I first "opened shop" at the Windmill Art Gallery in 1977, there was no Rhino Graphics. At that time I was doing calligraphy and custom framing. Then in October of '78, I travelled east to visit friends in Western Massachusetts and spent time with master printmaker Wang Hui-Ming in Montague, Massachusetts. I studied calligraphy and printmaking with him and left his studio with an antique 5 x 8 Kelsey letterpress. After getting new rollers and having the platen of the press welded by a former shipyard co-worker, the press was fully operational once again.
One of the very first block prints that I designed and printed was a rhino depicted in a prehistoric setting. The image was modelled after a work by Albrecht Durer which I had seen in a book of his prints. (See ABOVE) I adapted this image to the medium of linoleum block making him to appear to chiseled out of solid steel. I really wasn't sure if the final printed image would be a visual success or not. It was. (See BELOW.)
Much later, after I closed the shop at Windmill Art, and moved to Cleveland I found that I had the perfect logo for my freelance graphic art business - Rhino Enterprises. The rhino, sans prehistoric embellishments, appeared on my business card, letterhead, envelopes - even on a promotional T-shirt. I have used it ever since.

Perhaps you wish to have something which I presently do not have -- BUT MAY BE ABLE TO CREATE....JUST FOR YOU.
This could take the form of a photograph, print or a work of digital calligraphy. It might be a poem, maxim, saying -- perhaps joined with a symbol or graphic image. My graphics library is enormous and it may be that I have just the image to complement the verse which you have cherished for so long.
Through the medium of the internet (and the telephone), we are really just "down the street" from each other. I want to be your partner in designing and creating works which are as unique as you.
