[Home] -- The personal web page of Richard C. McCluney, III

NOTE: Did you find the Richard you were looking for? There is apparently a Richard C. McCluney, III who lives in England. I'm not him. I live in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. It's been several years since he asked me to include this disclaimer, but I'm leaving it in, just in case.

My Wiki: I've created a Wiki on Peanut Butter Wiki -- richardsindexwiki.

Wikipedia: I've signed up to be a contributer to Wikipedia. I'm tracking the projects I'm working on my user page.

My web logs:

Work: I am a computer programmer with over ten years of industry experience with a number of programming languages, including C++, PowerBuilder, SQL, and Java. I am currently working with HTML, cascaded style sheets, XML, and JavaScript. These web pages constitute a sample of my work. I've made a HTML Quick Reference table to use when I'm working with HTML.

Play: Favorite pastimes include role-playing games, computer games, reading, and writing. <> My role-playing experience includes games by Phage Press, Steve Jackson Games, and Wizards of the Coast. Role-playing systems I've played include Amber Diceless, d20 and its predecessors, and GURPS. GURPS projects include my Cool Regime Change alien-invasion campaign and the conversion from Amber Diceless that my late wife and I collaborated on. <> My current favorite computer game is Sid Meier's Civilization IV. <> I enjoy reading books, especially history, science fact, science fiction, and fantasy. A current favorite is Excession by Iain M. Banks. I've created a timeline for it. <> Amateur writing in the past has included alternate history, future history, and fan fiction. I'm currently working on a story based on the Cool Regime Change.

Family: My wife Virginia died in 2002. I've preserved a number of web pages she made. They are very dated now, of course, but they have sentimental value for me. My AOL Hometown Profile, my Various Interests, and the McCluney Family Clan. As noted above, we also collaborated on a method of converting Amber Diceless character statistics to GURPS.

Friends' pages: A Writer's Block by MMLee.

Links I've collected include Computer Games, Music, News and Reference, Pyramid message board subscribers, Reenacting, Science, Science Fiction and Fantasy, Web Comics, and Web Logs.
