Rhode Island Trials Club was established in 1994 primarily to promote observed trials events, and to provide an area where observed trials enthusiasts can practice and ride. The club is located in Exeter, R.I. and has access to approximately 900 acres in the Arcadia Management Area. The terrain includes a combination of ledge, wooded areas, streams and hillsides that provide varying levels of challenge to riders of all abilities.

The club currently has 50 members, with varying degrees of skill. New members must be sponsored by a current member, and are subject to a three-month probation period. A probationary member must attend all three monthly meetings. Meetings are held on the first Sunday of each month. Work parties in preparation of this year's National are held every Sunday until May.

The club will be host to the 4^th and 5^th rounds of the 1997 National Championship Observed Trials, as well as numerous New England Trials Association observed trials events. In 1996, Rhode Island Trials Club hosted the U.S. round of the World Round, and plans to do the same for 1998!
