My quest for my roots began as a curiosity after watching the ROOTS television
series. As I began to dig and collect data, I realized that the information
I needed was in the minds and memories of those who had already passed from
this world. That information is lost and gone forever. My curiosity has grown
into a passion to collect and preserve all that I can, while I am here to
do so, for my children and for their children.
I am now so much more aware that all of these people were here, lived full
lives, had families, laughed and cried - just like me. If any one had made
different decisions, lived somewhere else, fell off of a cliff...., I would
not be here. I wish to remember them and preserve a record of their existence,
and I hope that at least one of my descendants, sometime, somewhere, will
