Comments on this site: A-5, Michigan Creek, May 17, 2008 I fished A-5, Michigan Creek on May 17, 2008 between 12-4pm. There are very eager fish in this small stream. I caught 5 rainbows and 5 browns between 5 and 14”. I had good luck with a short hopper/copper/dropper rig of around 4 feet long. Several fish came up to the hopper, but a size 6 Dave’s Hopper seemed like too big a mouthful for them. The CJs I tried both black and green and it seemed they had no preference to either color. The fish really liked both an orange egg pattern and a small BH hares ear patterns that I alternated as the droppers. I had the best luck in the oxbow bends where nice runs empty into deep pools. The stream forks about mid property and forms two smaller channels. I had the best luck right before the water splits into tow smaller channels. This stretch was most productive after 3pm.
