Hello, my name is Jan, I am happily married to Allen and we have four children, Samantha, Amber, Lianne and Jordan.

See our latest family picture here.

We have a lovely black labrador cross called Harvey.

We took him in when he didn't have a home and he's made himself very comfortable here. He's really happy and very whacky. See one of his funniest moments caught on camera at Walk Time.

In 2002 we adopted an adorable 14 week old collie/springer spaniel cross. His name is Bracken and it didnt take him long to realise he'd landed in puppy heaven.

He's now fully grown and just delightful.

We live in a small town just south of London and we are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This has provided us with a good wholesome family orientated lifestyle and we have friends all over the world who share our beliefs and ideals. Most importantly, our faith has given us a deeper understanding of our Saviour Jesus Christ and and our purpose in life. Find out more about our faith by looking at the frequently asked questions page, and please take a look at my My beliefs page.

In December 1996 I was diagnosed as having multiple sclerosis. I evaluated my life and realised that I had achieved everything I had wanted to achieve. My life had been good so far, but now was the time to make new goals and strive to achieve them. My web site is the realisation of one of these goals. It is about me and my life and things that interest me, not so that I can travel on some huge ego trip, but because I have a lot I can share, and maybe someone could benefit from reading about my experiences. MS closed many doors on me, but it has opened many more. I intend to make the best of my life and, as I have lost none of my wacky sense of humour I intend to enjoy it. My Life with MS

In March 2003 I won an MS Society Millennium Award to fund a year long family history project in the community. My project was very exciting and very successful. I wrote a basic guide to family history and put together and distributed information packs to help people start their research. I had a display at various local events and gave presentations to several local groups. The project is over now but I continue to help people to find organise and preserve their family history and give talks to local groups.

Family is very important to us and I enjoy tracing my family tree. Do take a look at my genealogy pages and see the results of our family's research. There is a photo album there with pictures of some of my ancestors.

Since the day I finally mastered the use of a pen I have loved writing and have included some of my short story and poetry collection on my site. Please take the time to look through my work.

Before I was taken ill with MS I trained and qualified as a Reflexology Practitioner. Reflexology is a fascinating complementary therapy which helps the body relax and is a powerful tool in easing the effects of stress and ill health.  I can no longer work but I advise and give workshops. Learn more by visiting my reflexology page.

I enjoy art although I don't paint much myself now. I particularly love the artwork of both Greg Olsen  and Danny Hahlbolm but I enjoy a wide spectrum of art.

My best friend outside my family is Jane. We both have a child born with spina bifida in the 1970's and have been a support to each other since we met when my Samantha was a few months old. Samantha and Shaun will always share a special friendship. Please take some time to visit Jane, Danny and Shauns' web site, I know Jane would love you to sign her guestbook.

I have put The Ship on my web site to give comfort to anyone who is bereaved.

I hope you've enjoyed my homepage and that you will come back often and visit all my web pages.

Please sign my guestbook. Unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances I lost several pages of a previous guestbook. I am working on a problem I am having with spammers and remove their work regularly.

Due to constant interference by spammers I have had to regretfully remove my guestbook.

If you have any comments about my web site then please email me via the link embedded in the graphic below.
