Diane is very excited about all of the favorable reviews that MADE YOU LOOK  received!

MADE YOU LOOK  was a finalist for the 2006 Connecticut NUTMEG AWARD, the 2005 Kentucky BLUEGRASS AWARD, and the 2005/2006 West Virginia CHILDREN'S BOOK AWARD. It has also been nominated for the 2006 GARDEN STATE AWARD in New Jersey. Each year panels of school and Public Librarians in these states choose titles of books for children in grades 4-6. They ask the children in those grades to read the books and vote for their favorite title. The awards are given to the books that receive the most votes.

Diane was invited to speak at many Connecticut libraries and schools during June and October of 2006. She introduced the children to MADE YOU LOOK and gave them an opportunity to participate in the book's TV game show, MASQUERADE MANIA. When she left, there were a whole bunch of "CERTIFIED MASQUERADE MANIACS" residing in Connecticut.

As a game show contestant, Diane won sixty pairs of shoes and a bright red coat. She wrote about this humorous experience in MADE YOU LOOK.

More rewarding is her career as a puppeteer, during which she has performed for thousands of children across the country, most often in the great state of Texas. Diane and her husband, Jim, live in Fort Worth and are parents of three grown children and have six grandsons.

She recalled some of her puppeteer and grandmother encounters and created her second book, PUPPET PANDEMONIUM.

Diane was a featured speaker at the Texas Library Association Convention in March  2004! Ricky Raccoon, her lead puppet, scampered on the scene to assist her during the presentation! Ricky has long been a supporter for saving energy but now he is a library and reading advocate! Ricky introduced new lyrics, "I'm Ricky Raccoon a Reader"©, to his favorite tune and supported Diane with a slide series! Enjoy the slides with the music:
