This is one of the top displays
from the last couple years ..created for a MeatLoaf Live Instore
Promotion.
The best projects I do are when I can simply create an
"object" that we can put in a window etc. that will
make sense ..in this case that was the motorcycle from the covers
of a couple of MeatLoafs albums (even painted in a few flames and
the Giant Bat in the backround (below)

That's basically Pvc-tubing, Styrofoam tires- fuel-tank &
horse-skull, Silver-mylar-coated foamboard, and a few components
etc. from a dollar-store to create an engine design.
The Biggest Ego-boost came from a biker that I was talking to in
front of the display ..we were talking about the accuracies and
inaccuracies and how the tail-pipes are really only supposed to
be on one side etc. (didn't realize that and put them on both)
and after we were talking about 3 feet from the display for 10
minutes he says "hey where'd ya get the tires?" ..they
were sculpted from styrofoam and nobody could tell ...i put my
hands in the air and "Triumph!!" ..heh heh ..artists
love moments like that :)

This is how a project
like this gets started (when you have the floorspace)
..Basically it's like assembling a large model, except
you create all the parts yourself..like oversized
scrastchbuilding. The pink circles are a couple layers of pinkfoam to sculpt the tires, the tubes are ordinary pvc-tubing to create the tailpipes, framework and handlebars etc. |
| Here's a quick pic of
MeatLoaf just in case you're interested. Right out of the limo ..right into the store ...sign sign sign ...out the door ...don't even think he noticed there was a display :) lol ..which is ok ,everybody else on the street saw it for weeks (I should try to get people to sign more displays though) |
