Just wanted to thank you guys for setting up this site, but am afraid I am becoming somewhat of a nuisance. On your pages titled "Your Server Space, myplace", third paragraph, you say to click the MY FTP Place link, did that, only mine says MY FTP Space, and there isn't a following information screen on which to click "OK". However, I did get to my "myplace" and saw the folder named "private" and a file named README->/usersFAQ.txt. I double clicked on it so that I might read and print it, BUT it appears that the author may have had an attack of some kind, because theres only part of one question, "how to get h" and it ends there. Uh, any suggestions? Also, the sixth paragraph "Lets take a look". I can't find a SHOW ME button. If you could shed some light on these areas, it would be appreciated much. "They" have probably changed the layout of the "myplace" window since you guys wrote the documentation. Thanks P.S. When does it become necessary to join AOL Hometown? I'm still in the designing stage of my page.

I see your answers to many questions on the AOLPress Bulletin Board and I learn from all of them. My next field to conquer is to be able to insert my own html into AOLPress code without messing up the whole works. I can write a small simple file in NotePad and insert but keep getting "errors in code" or such, -- working on figuring out what to do. I have found out that just deleting the offending tag will not do it. Thanks for your help on the BB Tom Parish (a 74 year old Navy Vet of WWII, -- Pacific theatre)

Protek(the only one I know)

Hi Bruce! Good to be this close to you. As always I am sincerly impressed with what you have and do with what is nearest and dearest your heart. As you see I have finally got into computing as ever primitive I go at it. I've been at for a year now, and I'M slowly but surely learning. I've been shut-in my house with various illnesses and other afflictions. I am alright. I am just getting out a bit; not counting the Doctor. My problems been respitory, and ulcers on my butt and my foot. They've all but healed. I am doing well. Seems my imune system went south 0n me for a great while. I am interested in addresses and links, and such. I pick up a book here and there. I'm just a novice, but I do pretty well. Bruce I am impressed with your web. I am almost impressed than that time you came up to see me, and we played wheel of fortune, and the beautiful music of the harpsichord. I've thought of that night and of you many times, and I share it. My site is about my experiences, and my poetry. Only one poem as of now, but I am almost ready to put a few more pages on of more pages. Spelling, grammer, and typos are bad, but I've been going in as I can to pretty iy up. I did it when I was quite ill, and I'm proud of it. All the little "buddies" call on me asking if I am a Doctor, and if I can help them with their poetry. I get a bit puffed up at that. Well I do get some more mature persons coming by, and I still get puffed up. Well Bruce it has been a long time, and you should know I have missed you, and I ,of course, have great affection for you. Drop me a line when you have a few moments. To you and yours I give my Love in our Lord, Walt (Did it again. I just talk too much.)

Dear Bruce I came back over to check again at some of Lory's MIDI's then I came aross your Memorial Day Page. i'm not a bit ashamed to tell you the sight of our flag waving, and the sound of The Navy Hymn swiftly broght me back to the gaurd post of the reality of what this day really means. I didn't try to stop the tears that flowed down my face, and still are. I took the time for a pray for all those lost, and all thier families, relatives, and friends. I asked the Lord to bless you too Bruce for your thoghtfulness and Love to do this Memorial site, Thanks Bruce, with all my love, Walt

The TI99/4a

Hi, my Dad found his old TI in the closet and now we want to make it run again. We are having a bit of trouble though. First of all the poor old TI had to endure close to 7 moves all over Canada. In the moves my Dad makes, things get lost. We lost all the power cords and cartiges for the computer. The only thing we DO still have is the console and one cartige "home finalcial planing" and that didn't sound very interesting to me OR my Dad!! If you could help us on our little project it would be greatly apreciated. Thank you very much.

Hi, nice to find someone public-spirited enough to help out us website newbies. I guess we share some similarities. After 21 years in the Army during which I nurtured a love affair with computers, but only had brief exposure to a few (LGP-30 in 1963 for a week, PDP-8 for a year or so at Stanford in 1967, and PDP-12 2-wk course in 1972, I worked as a psychiatrist (my profession) for 3 years at the VA in Brentwood, LA, then entered private practice and bought (with 20K loan) a TI DS-990 Model 4 (funny coincidence!) and taught myself BASIC when the salesman vanished with many broken promises to indulge his cocaine habit! Got pretty good at it and wrote some programs that later were made obsolete by VisiCalc, MYM, etc. Use computers all the time in my current practice in Tehachapi, CA, I document interviews in real time so no dictation later, etc. Now interested in building an alumnus newspaper for a 70-YO old Camp organization with all the goodies to make it funny and interesting. I hope to get going soon, and welcome knowing you are there to help. Thanks, Jim Ketchum.

My (currently mothballed) TI

Nice to see your page and the sense of humor and spirit in it. I'm an old time TI user, never really had time to be active but went to a few CTIUG meetings. I bought your TI music disks with about 100 pieces of music, and still think that no one else ever pushed the sound chip in that machine (with just XB!) as far as you did with those files. Someday I'll dust off the old machine when I have the desk space!

Hi Bruce, Please bear with me I am new at all this computer stuff. I think you are so clever to learn all this and share it with others. I am on a 166mhz proteva computer with 2gb to start out with, 24cd, and 32mb ram. I know I have to upgrade but here in New York it is very expnsive and they want about $800.00 without picking it up and delivering it. I have a scanner that I love all serial ports. I will make you laugh I purchased a digital camera. Guess what I do not have a usb port. Well just wanted to thank you and please take care and be well. Carol ps. just went down to subit and do not understand about getting the form. It will take me a while. At my age I move slow. Thank you

Hi! I've read and used your entries in Easy Designer help. I'm glad you make it so easy to know how to do things. AOL's help pages aren't very clear or easy to find. I'll be thrilled if they eventually make it more user-friendly! I'm still working on my pages; eventually there will be more added with some improvements to those listed allready. One note... the function that prevents right clicks also makes it difficult to update the page one sees. You might make sure people know to finish their page before adding it or be prepared to rename it. Thanks! ElvesandUnicorns

Bruce, I was checking out the easy designer message boards and noticed that you responded to many of the people asking for help. I decided to check out your web page. I wanted to let you know how great I think it is, and to say thank you, for helping people such as myself. I think what I find the most comforting is that you share your knowledge without asking for anything in return. I think that is a rare and beautiful thing. I am sorry to hear about the incident you had in November of 2000, but I am so glad to hear your better! I loved the Rotten Cat page the best, I swear I have teeny's cousin living with me lol. Her name is Shortie (AKA Bud) so I can relate to that page quite well. Well, again thank you so much for all your help with web pages, and for being something refreshing, a nice human being. Sincerely, Mary Lynn

the TI, what else?

I spent almost 15 years learning to program the TI, collecting hardware and software, and running Bullwinkle's Corner BBS. I still have 1 TI and 1 Geneve set up even though I've been spending my time now on this PC, programming for Windows. I'm amazed that after all of this time there is this much TI activity still around. For those of you who are interested, I am slowly selling off much of my TI related items that I have collected over the years. If you are in need of anything and can't find it, I may have it, including some really hard-to-find items. My first one, its a Gateway

Dear Harrison (Mr.GURU) if you please, My computer was delivered to me on Feb.22 of this year. Before that I had never touched one. Thanks to you I've been moving right along. Don't ask me how I ever stumbled on to your webpage because I can't remember. A total of 71 days have flown by since I started learning how to operate this beast and I am learning. But I wouldn't be if it weren't for you. Your pages have been a god sent. In the presense of my wife I refer to you as the rotten cat guy. Every time I'm stuck on something I just call you up and look for the answer. Our page is in easy designer right now, a very simple one for now but I'm working on the old html trick and I hope to have a snazzy page like yours someday. Thanks for all the info. on your pages. I'd never of survied without it. Respectfully, Herb"CAPPY"Victor. PS. Murrr is our cats name and she is a beast. Therefore our email address. She is exactly the same as teenie weenie in every way. When my wife and I read about your rotten cat we thought you were writing about murrr. Well I've taken enough of your time. Thanks again for all your help.

You are truly a talented, caring, patient, understanding, and compassionate man to give of your time to others who you don't even know. For this I am grateful. Thank you from the heart and soul. May God Bless you today and everyday. And may the angels watch over you ^y^ ^y^. Stay safe, healthy and most of all happy. Hugs to you.

Dear Rottencat1, Teeny's page is really neat! You ought to make a guestbook for her page, too. Also she needs to have more recipes. Maybe we could alter some of yours to suit us cats. Oh yeah, your page is pretty good, too.

I am pleased to see that there are still a few people out there who are not out to rob you blind, but to help. I have only just found your Web Site and have had a general look. I will try out your advise and will probably be visiting from time to time. I hope the Site will be available for some time as I will take quite a bit of time to get to know these new fangled things. It's amazing what you can do with these computers isn't it. Thanks for your efforts. Yours ever, Ivor

QUICKANDSPEEDY@AOL.COM

My dear Mr. Harrison, regarding Help! Thank you very much for the instruction you gave me on how to use HTML on my home page. I followed them and every thing worked out great now I can concentrate on designing a better page. Would it be asking to much if I ask you to check in on ALICE JACKSON'S WEBPAGE and take a look and give me a feed back? I worked on the page until early Wednesday morning and I felt great because I could follow the instruction and they made sense. Thank you so much for being there for us. I will past your kindness on to everyone else that I can as a matter of fact I have already started because someone else was having problems and I recommended your site. Goodnight, Mary

Hi.. I just installed your guestbook and can't believe it is working..I remember installing it a year or so ago and when I deleted my pages I had to do it again this year. I'm no whiz at this computer and am proud that I was able to get it working. Your instructions were so well explained I think anyone like me can do it. A question...Is there a way I can make a different background for the Thanks page? If I had thought when I installed it to upload another gif and use it but had finished before I thought about doing that and now I don't want to go thru all those steps again. Any other way.. Thanks for all your help since I've had my computer....Edna

Bruce, You have been a friend and a great help since I've known you. You recently sent me a link for formatted email, as I am trying to password protect data posted to a web page. Corporations, such as online banking, do it for access to personal accounts. I still can't figure it out. However, I am not writing about this, but the link also gave me the opportunity to find out more about you and you being such a, "Computer Guru, humanitarian, and great person with a fascinating history." I will enjoy viewing more of your pages and what you have on the internet. Al

I just discovered your site through an AOL message board where I asked for help in getting started with my own web site. You graciously offered to let me use your excellent site as a basis for learning and getting ideas for my own web site. What a great web site! You are obviously a very capable and experienced designer. How in the world duid you find time to work on so many novels. I am enjoying your site so much that its keeping me from working on my own. Greetings, I stumbled upon your web-site while looking for information about the Thomas Mifflin Elementary School. My wife and I have been living in East Falls for about three years now and I am involved in the newly formed East Falls Historical Society. The reason I am writing in your guest book is I was wondering if you might have any old photos of Mifflin or East Falls in general. A year and a half ago I got involved in the local East Falls Schools Committee. Currently we are working with Mifflin to create a partnership as it goes through a $7 million renovation over the next two years. Any stories, insight, history would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time, Rob
