MY TESTIMONY/GOD'S GRACE
My name is Roy Tubbs and I was born October 25, 1940 in Walker, Co. Alabama. My dad was a coal-miner and a farmer. I grew up on a farm along with 3 older brothers and a sister. I started drinking at an early age because all my friends did and I didn't want to be different. It's about all we knew to do in the country. I started out drinking blackberry wine that my brothers had made. I'll have to shorten this to get it all on the page. My dad died in 1959 just as I graduated from high school. We moved to Florida where I got work and was supporting my mother. But I was still drinking heavy. I met a beautiful girl in Davie, Florida who lived in Alabama. Just about 30 miles from where I lived. We were married on October 25,1960 in Double Springs, Alabama. We moved back to Florida where my drinking problem got worse. I was jailed and was looking at some serious time and my wife was with our first child. My brother sold land and his truck to bail me out and some very good friends pull some strings with people to get me released from jail. I had to leave the state and returned to Alabama. In 1963 we moved to Michigan. It was there that my drinking problem got worse. I finally realized that I really had a problem but I still would not submit to treatments. But, that's the first step in deliverance(recognizing the problem) and admitting it. In the meantime, we have now 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls. We returned to Alabama, thinking that back home in the country, I could quit drinking on my own. (Wrong again) We moved back in 1972, and after many attempts to stop drinking, I just got worse. I was in and out of just about every jail in Walker, Winston and Cullman County. They knew my first name. It seemed there was no hope left for me and my family. My wife and children suffered the most because of my drinking. I didn't realize what I was putting them through. My oldest son, Kenneth was afraid to see me coming home. He knew I was mean when I was drunk. On March 30, 1974 there was a terrible accident. I was driving drunk with my wife and children in the pickup and we overturned. My wife was injured in her chest and neck, my youngest son, Dennis, was seriously injured. It ruptured his splean and busted his liver. He was bleeding internaly. I received two broken bones in my neck and back injuries. I was almost totally paralized. No feelings when I awoke and couldn't move. The other 3 children escaped with just minor injuries. I was carried to Walker County Jail and my wife and children was taken to the People's Hospital, in Jasper Alabama. Dennis was rushed to Children's Hospital in Birmingham,Alabama. They did exploratory surgery and repaired his liver and splean as best as they could. They said he had lost so much blood and they didn't know if he would recover. He was in a coma. I was brought back to People's Hospital after I sobered up, and admitted. It was there in the hospital that I realized what I had done. They told me about my son,Dennis, and how they didn't expect him to live. O,God! What have I done? I received word that my wife was leaving me and getting a divorce. My son was dying, my other children, I didn't know where they were now. With nothing (it seemed) to live for, the whole world caved in on me. Everything that I loved was being taken away from me and there was nothing that I could do about it. For the first time in my life I was helpless. I was still paralized. So, with nothing else to live for, no where, no one to turn to, I cried out to "Jesus." I gave my heart and soul to Him. A complete surrender. A Word from the Lord came unto me saying "Fear not, your son will live" My wife heard about my conversion and came back to stand with me. What a wonderful wife! What a wonderful Savior! My son, Dennis, was miraculously healed! Raised from a death bed to a complete recovery! God called me to preach His Word while I was kneeling beside my son's bedside, crying and talking to God. In 1 Corinthians 1:26; "For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27.But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the mighty; and the base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not,to bring to nought things that are:That no flesh should glory in His Presense" There is hope for the hopeless, in Christ Jesus our Lord. There is deliverance for the Alcoholic! I have been telling the Good News about Jesus and His Mercy ever since! I will spend the rest of my life telling others about Jesus and helping others find Him. Have you heard,Once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic? That's completely Wrong because the Word says whom the Son sets free is free indeed! Since my deliverance I have never had a desire to drink again. It's as though I had never been an alcoholic. NO withdrawls,no symptoms, complete deliverance! Praise God! For Prayer you can call 205-686-2525 or e-mail me at rekdpz@bellsouth.net or roytexcel@yahoo.com JESUS IS LORD! In His Love, bro Roy

GOD'S PLAN OF SALVATION FOR YOU
IT IS A FACT THAT GOD LOVES YOU. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. JOHN 3:16
IT IS A FACT THAT YOU ARE A SINNER. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. ROMANS 3:23
IT IS A FACT THAT YOU ARE NOW DEAD IN SIN. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. ROMANS 6:23
IT IS A FACT THAT CHRIST DIED FOR YOU. For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ROMANS 5:6-8
IT IS A FACT THAT YOU CAN BE SAVED BY FAITH IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? Any they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. ACTS 16:30,31
IT IS A FACT THAT YOU CAN BE SAVED AND KNOW IT. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life: and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
I JOHN 5:10-13
IT IS A FACT THAT YOU ARE NOW A CHILD OF GOD AND YOU ARE TO OBEY HIM. Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. ACTS 5:29

BE GLAD ! GOD HAS SET YOU FREE!
Sin is powerful. So what is sin? It is both doing what you know is wrong and not doing what you know is right. Sin has the power to make prisoners of everyone. But there's good news! God's power is stronger. When you put your faith in Jesus Christ, God sets you free!
Sin causes you to fall short of God's standard for living, but God sets you free!
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Romans 3:23-26
Sin pays off with death, but God sets you free!
For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:20-23
Christ died for you. God sets you free!
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:6-8
You won't be punished. God sets you free!
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1-4
Put your faith in Jesus. God has set you free!
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9,10
Be glad! God has set you free!
Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. Acts 13:38,39
