Aft Fuselage

Very straight forward construction with very few
confusing details here, but takes up a lot of room
in my 12 by 20 hangar. I had to devise a method of
placing the wings against the wall, one over the
other. This allowed just enough room to work on
fuselage. I pilot drilled the fuselage sides while they
sat on leveled 2x4's on the work table. If I did it
again I'd take the table out and level saw horses
under the longerons. That 4 by 12 table takes lots
of room in a small work area like this.

This is looking to the rear with the
turtle deck clecoed in place

With the turtle deck skins in place, the
parts are getting lots bigger now

The turtle deck formers and skin were
next, but after the experience I had gained
from making the wing ribs, this went along
without many problems. The skins meant
lots of measuring from the tables, luckily the
right and left are identical so only had to
measure one side then use it for a template.
I bought the formed channel from sonex
which made framing the rear fuselage much
easier.
Once again, the plans are so good. All parts,
some made months apart all fit very well together.
I used the metric measurements most all the time
and this made getting accurate cuts a lot easier,
especially if you have to figure a mid point. It's a
whole lot easier to divide 2 into 58mm than 2 into
15 13/64ths.

Wings stored against the wall. Worked well
for over a year with no damage and takes up
very little space
