~ THE GOLD LABEL LINE ~ In the middle 1950's Hall started a line called Gold Label. It had a few kitchenware pieces like bowls, casseroles, cookie jars, and twelve teapots. These all have new fancy gold body decoration, and the spout, handle, and lid finial, or knob, are covered in gold. They will have the inventory number for their shape and color combination followed by "GL". Production of this line lasted about ten years and they were discontinued in the late 1960's.

~ SPECIALS ~ There is also a gold decoration that has been named "special" by collectors. This has the normal body decoration with the spout, handle, and lid knob covered with gold. Many teapots made in the 1920's with the #2 backstamp had this decoration, and it was used throughout the time the gold decorated line was produced, although the normal decoration occurs more often. These teapots will have the normal inventory number for their shape and color, followed by the letter "S".

To help show the difference between Normal gold, Special gold, and Gold Label decoration, consider this picture:
On the Top shelf is a Maroon Hollywood with Normal gold decoration;
On the bottom shelf is the same teapot in Special gold decoration, next to it is the same teapot in Gold Label.
Notice that the bottom two both have gold covered spouts, handles, and lid knobs, but the Gold Label teapot has a different body decoration.
