             Francis:

             According to correspondence in the files of Rhonda Love, great-grand daughter of Frank Elam, Frank was taken from Texas to Kansas as a young child by his father. They traveled through Oklahoma at night to avoid contact with Indians.

The marriage license reflects the name Bird. Initial "A" taken from wedding announcement of John Clark Walker and Elta Lola Elam.

                           John: John operated a string of welding shops in various "oil boom" towns around Texas prior to the outbreak of WWII. His speciality was manufacturing steam boilers used in the oil fields. He moved the family to California shortly after the start of World War II.

                    d.    Ella Lota ELAM born 23-Feb-1906, Copan, OK, married Everett LOVE .  Ella died 17-Jul-1995, Cleburne, Texas.

                    f.     Wayne Leroy ELAM born 2-Dec-1912, Oklahoma, married divorced, Dorothy Berdene EPPERSON , born 5-Sept-1922, Comanche, OK, (daughter of Robert Herbert EPPERSON and Nancy Viola TEAGUE ) died 10-May-1976, Woodland, Yolo, CA, buried Woodland, Yolo, CA.  Wayne died 20-Apr-1986, Bishop, Inyo County, CA.[xiii]  Known as Roy by the family, and Bill by his friends.

              2.    Agnis ELAM born Aug 1879, Kansas,4  married Abt. 1900,[xiv] Joseph PERRIER , born Abt. 1876, Oklahoma.14   Information on marriage is from Cora Deay's obituary, and a letter from Lucile (Walker) Lantz. The 1910 Federal Census, Osage County, Oklahoma does not reflect any children after about 10 years of marriage. This same census shows Joseph as being 1/4 Osage Indian.
