The Interactive Fiction Metadata Initiative (IFMI) is an open forum working to make Interactive Fiction more accessible through better cataloging of available games and platforms. The IFMI drafts specifications, guidelines, and recommendations with the goal of improving and standardizing game cataloging systems. While we do not have the standards-setting authority of organizations like W3C and IETF, we hope that the Interactive Fiction community will recognize the value of adopting interoperable standards compatible with modern internet technology such as those we provide.
