HISTORY

The beginnings of Sacred Heart parish date back to 1876. It was established as the Cathedral parish on March 12, 1945, when the See of the Diocese was transferred from Concordia to Salina. In 1951, work began on the present Cathedral, which was completed two years later. Plans are currently underway for a major addition of a gathering space and a small parish hall to be attached to the front and west sides.
