HISTORY
St. Mary Parish began in 1954 with the purchase of 29 acres of land in southeast Salina. The first celebrations of Mass were held in the St. Mary Grade School cafeteria, which was completed in 1955. The parish continued to grow, and people continued to sacrifice so that on August 22, feast of the parish patron, the first Mass was celebrated in St. Mary's Church. The parish and school have continued to grow so that, presently, we are in the midst of adding a Praish Hall to the Church building and additional classrooms to the school.
