About Me
My name is Shirley LeMAY. I live just outside Memphis, TN. I love sewing, beading, and beautiful fabric. That is one of the reasons I started making dolls and doll fashions.
I picked the name SALeMAY to use for my designs because my Grandmothers name was Sally May and my initials plus my last name is Sal E May. I do only ooak (one of a kind) dolls. I never remake them. Some fashions are redone in different colors or fabrics. The gowns are machine sewn. But have alot of hand work on them.(beading, sequins, trims, etc.) I never glue. Everything is sewn. When the clothes are removable they have tiny workable bead buttons or snaps.

I put alot of thought into each doll. Sometimes I spend a whole week on one doll. Needless to say, I am not going to make alot of money doing this. I do it for the love of creation. Seeing the final unique product and knowing I created it. I have no formal training in art or design. I just do what I love. I hope you enjoy my work and designs. It is all self taught.
