Guest writer discusses treatment of terrorists

A military man adds his perspective on the treatment of the terrorist detainees in Cuba.

Email me your comments and I will pass them on to him.

So I was watching the Clinton News Network this morning and saw a small piece on the Al Qaida and Taliban prisoners in Cuba and am appalled at the bleeding heart greenies whining that these people aren't getting the proper humane treatment. What kind of crap is this? Did these numbskulls already forget the prisoner uprising in Mazar-e Sharif that led to the death of a CIA case officer? Did they forget these are the same terrorists that crash airplanes into skyscrapers, killing thousands of innocent people? Do they understand that the Taliban prisoners fought alongside the Al Qaida in Afghanistan against US forces and for the five years of Taliban rule not only tolerated the existence of Al Qaida in their country, but actively supported the network?

I think it's absurd to be concerned about these prisoner's rights to comfort.

First and foremost we have to ensure these monsters don't escape.

Secondly, the troops have a right to protect themselves from a repeat of Mazar-e Sharif. Do these whining idiots want to see US Marines killed by another uprising?

Third, and last, is to make sure they receive the basic human rights.

In regards to human rights, they have nothing to complain of. They have three meals a day, they are allowed to go to the bathroom, they are allowed to pray. That's three times more than our US military would receive if any of us were captured in Afghanistan, I can guarantee you that. They aren't being beaten or tortured either, which would have happened to us, and anyone that believes otherwise is crazy.

Is it inhuman to cover their mouths so they can't talk to each other? You say it is, and yet, that is how they would plan their revolt. You say it's inhuman to blindfold and shackle them when they are taken out of their cages. How about this way they have no way to surprise on of the guards taking them to the latrine. Do these bleeding heart liberals understand that these people are extremely dangerous, and it is EASILY within the realm of possibility that at least some of them are trained to know how to escape from a guard or steal his firearm as long as he's not in shackles and blindfolded?

Further, it is not as if these will be their home for the rest of their life. This is a temporary facility, and if they are further incarcerated, they will no doubt be kept in a maximum security prison with little chance for escape or harm to any guards.

Lastly, at least they are getting medical care. And even the worst care we can give is better than the best they get in Afghanistan. They have nothing to complain about. So, my message to the bleeding heart liberals that think this is not fair is this: Keep whining and complaining, but you are making clear which side your bread is buttered on-you obviously are in favor of their comfort over the life of a US Marine.

By bleeding heart liberal, I am not referring to all left-wingers or people that claim to be of the liberal persuasion, but rather the far left. I think the majority of people have their heads screwed on right in this regards. Or so I hope...
