OC Team Mourns The Death of John Sesay
The OC team received sad news during the week of March 24th when it learned of the death of John Sesay the UMC Primary Principal in Makeni. Mr. Sesay was one of the driving forces behind the progress in Makeni.

OC Team Supports Amputee Camps
Members of the OC Team gave assistance to the amputee camps in Makeni and Kabala. The OC Team raised funds which supported projects in construction, food, scholarships and adult education.

Classroom Additions Completed At UMC SS
OC members provided funds that helped made an expansion at the UMC Secondary School in Makeni a reality. Six new classrooms were completed that will provide for the education of Makeni students.

Math Workshop Prepares For Future
Sixteen of the thirty-three teachers in attendance were attending their third mathematics workshop. This year groups of teachers planned for the future by organizing their own workshops for 2007-2008.

Second Year Primary Workshop A Success
Thirty-three primary teachers from Makeni shared and developed primary curriculum. Secondary science and math teachers presented prototype workshops for the primary teachers.

Science Teachers Plan Workshops
Science teachers formed teams that designed workshops that could be used to support learning in their communities. A visit to the Makeni Rehabilitation Center gave science teachers practical examples of the use of science.
