Sapp Family Researchers

Work Book I

Sapp Family Workbook for the Period of 1700 -1799

How many times in your research have you came across a Sapp Surname, looked it over and concluded the individual was not in your line.  What did you do with the information?  Did you say "Not in my line, no use to me" and turn to the next page of the records?  Or did you write the information down in your research book only to be discarded at a later date.

Guess What!!!!!  That information was a very important find, that may of helped a fellow Sapp research close a link in their research...... Shame on you.....

We don't seem to have any problem in asking others to provide us with answers to our research.  Yet we don't seem to want to gather information on anyone but our own line.....

Well now HERE IS YOUR CHANCE to help the Sapp cause.... Select the State from these pages in witch you live.  Dig up all that NOT IN MY LINE information you can find and submit it to the Sapp Archive.  Or if you have information from different States, submit it as well.  OH... don't forget the information on YOUR LINE.....

Please include source references with your Submissions....

I'm sure many will be thankful for your Submissions........ I know I will....

Robert F. Sapp...  Sapp Family Archive.

The Sapp Family Researchers Work Books are the place where we compare notes and information on the early Sapp lines.  I shall start out with the early Sapps 1500-1799.  If the response is good and we make some progress on the early Sapps then I will start up another set of Work Books for the periods of 1800-1900.

Hopefully by comparing what you have to what others have found we may really start getting to the answers of the parents of these early lines.  Please feel free to question and question again all that is in the workbooks.  I don't know of any one person that feels their work is etched in stone..and without possible error.  Isn't that what genealogy is all about.

Drop me a line with your thoughts and differing opinions on the work listed in the workbooks.  Every bit of information know matter how small may one day be the key to unlocking the doors.

Remember this project will only succeed with help from all Sapp researchers...  E-Mail your thoughts and information to sapps@aol.com  or mail to Robert F. Sapp, 1645 Speedway Ave., Fairmont WV  26554.

Please E-Mail the Archive with your Findings...Without your help this project will FAIL.

Dear Robert:

I have been to your Sapp Family web pages and they're great. When I have more time I plan to pour through them fully. For now I wanted to add to the Sapp research with the following:

My great-great-grandfather was Thomas Sapp, born 1808 in Virginia. He married Phebe Barton, born 1816 in Grayson, County, KY. Their daughter (my great-grandmother) Teresa "Treacy" [sic] Sapp, was born 20-Mar-1840 in Grayson County, KY, died 14-Mar-1916 in Mott, Hettinger, OK; she married Micajah Sadler, born 2-Nov-1807 in Virginia, died 2-Dec-1903 in Grayson County, KY (yes, it is verified that they were that many years apart in age!).

Thomas Sapp is listed in the 1850 Kentucky census as having the following children: Nathan Sapp, b. 1833; Mahala Sapp, b. 1835; Ezra W. Sapp, b. 1838; Bluford Sapp, b. 1843; Roxy Sapp, b. 1845.

Obviously, I am trying to find Thomas Sapp's ancestors and I'm sure that your web page is a great beginning toward my eventually solving much of my personal Sapp puzzle. So thank you for taking the time to create it!

Sincerely, Lisa C. Lynn in San Diego, CA
