Steve Austin, astronaut, a man once barely alive........but saved by bionics, has just completed a mission for Oscar Goldman, the Director of the OSI. Steve had recovered an engraved plate used to print $20 bills that was stolen from the U.S. Treasury by Joseph Rona. Joseph Rona vowed to learn Steve's identity and take revenge.
Steve returns to his hometown of Ojai, California, to purchase a ranch he enjoyed as a child. While Steve is making repairs to the ranch, his mother and step-father, Helen and Jim Elgin arrive. Steve learns from his parents that Jaime Sommers, his old childheart sweetheart and now a world-class tennis pro, is in Ojai. Steve goes to the tennis court to greet Jaime.
