Jaime's parachute malfunctions on that fateful day, and she is seriously injured. Jaime's legs and right arm are crushed and she sustains damage to her right ear. Steve immediately contacts Oscar Goldman, the Director of the OSI, and asks Oscar to save Jaime's life by authorizing bionic surgery for her. Oscar agrees to authorize the surgery, but he will need Jaime to work for the OSI to justify the expenditure.
Dr. Rudy Wells performs his life-saving bionic replacement surgery on Jaime, but Jaime does not want her new bionic
body parts. Steve shows Jaime that he is also bionic to help her accept that she is bionic now, too.
