A Wonderful person contacted me when noticed the same beautiful pages as the ones  in the STALEY family bible and sent this bible to me,   This Jonathan D. CHRIST is the brother to our Louisa D. (CHRIST) STAHLE.

This first page shows the marriage of Jonathan and his bride. It is all  written in German.





Translation:
Jonathan D. CHRIST, son of John CHRIST and Elizabeth born DUNDOR entered into holy matrimony with the  maiden, Isabella REBER daughter of Jonathan REBER and Susanna born GREIM  on the 7th of June 1862.   Rev. Thomas C. LEINBACH performed the wedding.

Basic Translation:
Jonathan D. CHRIST was born 23rd July 1835 in Bern, Penn Twp, Berks County PA and baptized the 12th September 1835 by Rev. Thomas LEINBACH. Sponsors:  Johann STAUDT  and Wife Maria  NOTE: this is Maria CHRIST sister to   John CHRIST, who married  Eliza DUNDOR.

Isabella CHRIST was born 8 December 1837 in Tulpehokken Twp, Berks County, PA and Baptized 4 March 1858 by Rev, MINNICH sponsors: Jacob LANG and wife Lea.
CHILDREN:
1) Thomas Milton born 3 December 1864 in Penn Twp, Berks County, PA  baptized 15 January 1865 by Rev. T. C. LEINBACH  sponsor:   Kithiann CHRIST , single.

2) Clara born 30 July 1872 in Penn Twp. Berks County PA and baptized 27 September 1872 by Rev. Thomas C. LEINBACH. Sponsors: Parents.
