Course Comments for The Majors Golf Club I had heard alot of good things about this course from other golfers that I had played with on the Space Coast. Most recommended it as the nicest course in that vicinity. This is the only course on this website that is designed by Arnold Palmer and was built in 1999. There is a link to this course's website on the previous page. It has 5 sets of tees measuring 7352, 6831, 6484, 6105 and 5021 yards. I played here with Mac around Christmas 2003. We played from the White tees this day measuring 6484 long. I would compare many of the holes on this course to Eagle Marsh because of the irregular size and shape of many of its fairways. Also I noticed that many of the fairways would narrow considerably the closer you got to the greens leaving little room for error on your approach shots. Plenty of large waste bunkers alongside the fairways on this course to grab your tee-shots or 2nd shots. It is quite a picturesque course and probably the nicest scenery is in the vicinity of the island green #15 hole. One dislike I had about this course is that many of the cart-paths are roped off forcing you to grab a handful of clubs and walk to your ball if you hit it on the opposite side of the fairway. Beware of the tricky dog-leg-right #3 hole. You'll tee off over a lake that gives you the illusion of being easy to carry, none of us did until we started aiming significantly left. Beginners would be far better off to try the Tan or Gold tees which measure closer to 6000 yards. There are no short Par-3's on this course when you play from the Whites. I would certainly agree that this is one of the top courses on the Space Coast List and probably the nicest one I've played so far, but in terms of overall quality I don't think The Habitat or The Great Outdoors are far behind. We paid $35 each to play here around Christmas 2003. Those of you coming from the Fort Pierce vicinity might find this course well worth the trip. You travel only to the first Palm Bay Exit. Posted by: John on: Jun 30, 2005 at: 18:35 Fantastic golf course. Whenever I'm visiting from TN, I always make it a point to play here at least once. Summer golf bonanza deal of $35 for unlimited golf + lunch is hard to beat. |
