Management and Instructors



In 2005, students of The New York Crystal Dance Studio brought back 72 gold medals from their Ballroom, Latin, Tap, Ballet, and Jazz competitions. This is due, in no small part, to their dedicated instructors.


Randolph A. Buckley

Randolph Buckley

The founder and inspiration of The New York Crystal Dance Studio, Mr. Buckley held a dual fellow in the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing in Ballroom and Latin Dancing. He was trained in England under Frank and Dom Peggy Spencer and spent part of his dance career training other teachers of dance. Randolph competed successfully at the professional level and taught social and competitive styles of dancing.



Rosalie B. Keane

Rosalie Keane

The owner and director of The New York Crystal Dance Studio, Ms. Keane is a member of Dance Educators of America and the National Dance Council of America. Prior to opening the studio, Rosalie taught for many years for one of the top dance studio chains in the country. She has also competed successfully at the professional level and now teaches students social dancing and how to excel as competitive dancers.



Cathleen Terrano

Cathleen Terrano

Cathleen Terrano has been dancing since 1967. She is the director of our Ballet/Tap/Jazz program and has been with us since 1991. Cathleen has studied all forms of dance, specializing in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, and hip-hop, and has studied with such diverse groups and individuals as the New York City Ballet Company, the Long Island Ballet Company, Martha Graham, Phil Black, Broadway Arts, and many more. She is also a member of Dance Educators of America and the Brookhaven Theatre Dance Guild. Cathleen has competed herself, as well as helping many of her students enjoy successful competitions. Look for Cathleen in the "Who's Who of Teaching". Cathleen has also trained exclusively with Rosalie Keane and now teaches social dancing and competitive skills.



Marjory Miller

Marjory Miller

Mrs. Miller joined New York Crystal Dance Studio in 1992 and trained exclusively with Randolph Buckley and Rosalie Keane. She is currently a part-time instructor. Marjory has competed successfully as an amateur and now competes with her students in the Pro/Am divisions.



Joseph Visone

Joseph Visone

Mr. Visone is new to the staff of the New York Crystal Dance Studio. He studied under Rosalie Keane and Randolph Buckley. He has competed successfully in the Amateur Divisions and now teaches students social dancing and competitive skills.



Phyllis Hintze

Phyllis Hintze

New to our staff, Phyllis has been dancing Ballroom and Latin for ten years. She is proficient in both American and International Styles. She has also competed on the amateur level successfully, winning many awards.



Kristina Carentz

Kristina Carentz

Kristina has been dancing for 20 years. She was trained at a local studio school. She then received a scholarship to attend Marymount Manhattan College for dance. After two years, she left the dance program to pursue a career in occupational therapy. Kristina has received her B.S. in Health Science from Stony Brook University and is currently working on her masters degree in occupational therapy.

Kristina has been trained in Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz, Funk, Pointe, and Hip Hop, with Tap and Hip Hop being her specialities.
