"The Science of Magic" is a high concept, pedagogic tool.  It is based upon the proven concept that science demonstrations, masquerading as magic tricks, motivate students to experiment with and learn science.  This in-service program has proven extremely popular with elementary and middle school teachers who are trying to liven up and bring interesting demonstrations to their science lessons.

The typical "Science of Magic" session begins with a science magic show by award winning author, science historian, college lecturer, and master magician, Bob Friedhoffer.  The purpose of the show is to demonstrate the strength of the concept as a teaching tool.

The teachers, working in small groups, try the method for themselves, learning how to turn science into magic.

Based on the needs of participants, a "brush - up" of physical science topics is also included. The participants will review and learn these concepts in our uniquely designed, engaging, hands-on, fun filled, non-threatening manner. Time permitting, teachers can even create their own kit of materials and information on a topic of their choice to use with their own students.

Finally, teachers take the materials back to their own classrooms where science, writing, and creation can make science come alive for students!

So pick up your magic wands, put on you magic hats and let's conjure up science.
