I started crafting at about age 13. Mom taught me how to crochet. My first
project was a bright pink and purple poncho made out of granny squares. Of
course, this was an absolutely useless thing to make down in sunny south
Florida but it was a good item to learn on. I was soon taking mold ceramics
classes at the local park and schools. Some hideous pieces came out of those
early years. Mom (as moms often do) has kept many. On to college where I
made thousands of cups and bowls. Mom actually has sent many to me.
