New England Dinner 

One of the best things about winter in New England is the Boiled dinner that simmers all day & fills the house with a wonderful aroma of home cooking. If you're not a New England type, it's still a great meal for St. Patrick's day.

Oven Warmed Bread
Corned Beef  & Cabbage
Baby Carrots
New Red Potatoes
A Robust Beer (Sam Adams Winter Lager is my choice)
Chocolate Nut Brownies With Ice Cream (On St. Patrick's Day I Use Mint Ice Cream)
 
 
 

Ingredients Needed:
 
        One Corned Beef Center Cut
        1 clove Garlic
        10 baby Pearl Onions
        Baby Carrots
        Small New Red Potatoes
        Cabbage {a small head}
              Beverage:  Beer
                 Condiments:  Dijon Mustard, Applesauce, Butter
 

Utensils Needed:
 
     Large Pot
 
 
 
 
 

Recipes

Place the Corned Beef in a deep pot and cover with cold water and the juices from the package. Bring the water to a boil. At this time add the clove of garlic, Cover and let simmer for two hours. Now add the red potatoes, pearl onions and baby carrots. Let simmer for another half to one hour. Remove all and keep warm. Bring the water back to a boil and add the cabbage. Let boil for 30 minutes or until tender.

To slice the corned beef start at a cornor of the flat and slice thinly across the grain.
