World Cup Final Breakfast success.

The 2003 World Cup Final was supported in great fashion, as usual, by the selkirk Rugby Vets. With more than 120 in attendance, the event proved to be up to the normal high standards expected from our organisers. The day started off with Bucks fizz and a steak breakfast at 7am. The breakfast was followed by a toast to The Vets by John O'Neill from Pathead and ably replied to by Ex Standardbearer David Anderson. Prior to the cup final it'self, we were treated to a medley by Scotia. After the game we were traeted to some more entertainment by the band as well as their backing group - "Nursey Nursey" ------ View some photos of the day here

Eric The Red and his Merry Band of Men take the honours in the 2003 Vets Open

A three-man team led by Eric Patterson scooped the predigious "Vets Shield" on a perfect day for golf at the Innerleithen Golf Course yesterday (10th August) after a very low scoring Texas Scramble provided another nailbiting 3-way play playoff.

Nerves of steel and a few cans of Miller Genuine Draft, saw the Captain anchor his team to victory with a nearly inch perfect approach to the green. Click on this link to see the full report with more pictures and and scorecards of the day's event.
