Email received re: bigfoot...

I'm curious about an earlier group meeting your group had on the coast fork of the Willamette, held a few years back. Is there any way to discuss the happenings on the outing regarding a reported unwelcome intruder. In some circles called Big Foot. I would certainly like to chat with anybody there at the time willing to talk about it.. All stricky confidential, no identities needed, just factual observations. I'm a member of the "Western Bigfoot Society" located in Oregon City. Thank you. (name withheld)

(my response:)

I don't know about an outing on the Coast Fork of the Willamette. However, I was involved with a group that saw an ape-like creature in the woods on the main stem of the Willamette, in the general vicinity of Oakridge. I think it would have been May 2003, possibly. Let me know if I can be of help!

Thanks for the quick reply. The incident I'm inquiring about was on the TV news, they played it for a couple of days, mentioning your groups name. The BgFt reportedly was a horny fellow humping the bushes and acting rather randy as the group watched. Also one of the group was reported to have shot many pictures of the creature, twenty-one as I recall.

Shortly after hearing the news, I found "The Drowned Rat" website and it stated on it that the last encampment was on the coast fork, so I assumed that was where the sighting was. Do you recall anything like that?

The sighting you and the others had, was that at a "The Drowned Rat" encampment? I would like to hear the details of the sighting if you will share. Your candid thoughts and observations on the sighting would be helpful also.

(my response:)

Our Drowning Rat event in 2003 was held at the Black Canyon campsite, on the main stem of the Willamette River, not far from Oakridge.

At one point, I went to my tent, put on a gorilla suit I had brought with me, and then went into the nearby woods. I threw sticks around and bumped into trees, etc.

People were amazed.

Near the bottom of this webpage, you can see 2 photos of the antics...

The first one, sideview, a little out of focus looks to me kinda like a rushed shot of a fleeting bigfoot. The second one is an obvious gorilla suit.

Any more questions???

Hope thats not too disappointing. If it is very disappointing, then just forget I said anything about it. :-)

Thanks for the details about the fun and games. Looks like all had a real good time.

Disappointed, no not really, kinda thought there might have been a guy in a suit. What the main interest was in, was the possibility of the male BgFt sexual aggression display. This has been seen before, we're not sure what triggers it with them, if its brought on by just watching humans play and have fun or if female pheromones start the response due their monthly menstrual periods.

Lots of questions that might not be soon answered about these beasts. First we need to prove that the creature really is a live animal, ape, missing link or whatever to the scientific community. That's when it will really get interesting.
