Hello, I am Sheriff Greg Solano, a life long Democrat who is running for Re-election in the Santa Fe County June 6, 2006 Primary election. I am running for re-election in order to continue the programs and progress, which we began in 2003. 

Along with my outstanding staff and deputies we have worked hard to protect our way of life for the last four years. We have fought DWI with new laws and strict enforcement. We have put more deputies on the streets and increased preventative patrols in your neighborhoods. I fought hard to bring our Jail and Juvenile Detention Center under County control and fix the problems plaguing the jail. My administration has utilized grants and other funding to bring new technology to the Sheriff’s Office. Working together with the deputies union, the citizen’s help and the County Commissioners we have raised deputy salaries and made the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office one of the only agencies in this area to be fully staffed with law enforcement officers. 

My administration has been open, honest, and available to the public and the media. These are still the priorities in a continued Sheriff Solano Administration, I wish to continue to work on DWI, Domestic Violence, Property Crimes, putting more deputies on the streets, and continue to bring technology into the Sheriff’s Office. Please lend me your support again with your vote on June 6, 2006.

A little about Sheriff Solano and his family.

  • Sheriff Solano is: Age 42, married 22 years to Antoinette, they have two children, Sylvia age 13 and Aaron, Age 20.

While Sheriff of Santa Fe County Sheriff Solano has: 

  • Worked with Union and County Officials to bring deputy salaries up an average of 21% since taking office in January of 2003. This has resulted in an average of 12 vacant deputy positions being reduced to zero vacancies, which means more deputies on the streets.

  • Increased preventative patrolling and assigned deputies to permanent districts for better response times and increased knowledge of the areas in which they work.

  • Taken an active roll in our Youth Detention Programs and the Adult Detention Facility. Worked hard to bring both facilities under County Control and accountable to the community.

  • Worked hard to bring in over a half a million dollars in grants for equipment, personnel and overtime for the Sheriff’s Office.

  • Sheriff Solano has been available and accountable to the public and the media at all times.

  • Sheriff Solano provides information to the public daily at www.santafesheriff.com.
