True Ghost Story Page
- a collection of some of the best real ghost stories I've ever found.  These are  separated from the shadow people stories only because the appearance, or lack of one, deviated substantially from that of shadowy forms. 

"Shadow People??" you say...

 Yup!  Shadow people.

 "And just what are they??"  you ask...

Well no one seems to know for sure, but this type of supernatural being is one of the most commonly reported types of apparitions by people who have the ability to see ghosts in general.  Apparently they are some sort of phantasm but their descriptions vary so widely that no two people who have witnessed their presence ever describe exactly the same kind of being.

     Shadow People, also known as Shadow Folk, are usually attracted to one person or location for unknown reasons.  Often they are seen as dark silhouettes of human-shape, generally male, that prefer to watch someone unseen and flee the moment they are noticed.  Still this doesn't always fit the experience.  While some people distinctly see a male shape without details, others have described them from  shapeless wispy black blobs to swirling columns of dark smoke.  Some have odors associated with them while most don't. Their personalities range wildly from shy and skittish to downright nasty, with a few of the living describing them as the ultimate essence of pure evil.  One segment of sighters claim shadow people are a type of post human ghost while another camp of folks swear they are strictly elemental or demonic.  In any case, the only common denominator seems to be is that they are 'dark.'

       I chance to meet on the Undernet’s #Ghosts channel a witness of shadow people who  had a very unique theory about them.  She felt shadow people were just ghosts in general, but seen in different stages by people because of varying receptive abilities, depending on that person's ability 'to clearly bring in the signal.'

     "Like a channel on television," she told me. "The picture is only as good as the tv's reception.  With poor reception, you don't get a clear picture and detail is lacking.  With good reception, the picture is crystal clear as there are more dots to fill in the details.  People have varied receptions depending on their own degree of psychic ability and the current atmospheric conditions."
