SHOGAN/SOGAN & FIGULSKI FAMILY TREE

The purpose of this web site is to record my family tree and include as many links to this tree as possible.  The primary branches are the Shogan/Sogan family and the Figulski family.

Most Figulskis are related to me and my immediate famly.  I thought most Shogans and Sogans were probably related but I have been turning up more and more unrelated families. The eastern European members seem to be related and this should make it easier in tracing european records (I hope). On the other hand both families have been very prolific in the US and there are many members. Also most of the migration to the US was about 100 yrs. ago, so most of the members with European linkage are no longer here. The remaining older members of the family in the US have been very helpful.

This page is in early construction. Anyone with pertinent information is asked to contact me at shoganr@aol.com.  I can use all the help I can get.  Possibly the next generation will have ready access to the internet and someone in the family will be glad to have this information.  For the near future I will be entering the information I can get easily. Some of the easiest data has been GC Church records for the 19th century.  I have located over 210 Sogans in the records from about 1790 to 1896.  Gaps in the records, records in other towns and churches and relationships from earlier times limited my linking to about 50 or so of these to date.

I am keeping the site very simple initially so that I can fit on as much data as possible in my AOL allotment.  I am organizing the site as a series of pages for each family with appropriate links.  The data should include names, relationships, birth, marriage and death dates and locations with dates.  There should be room on the page for a short history.  I can put in basic data but family members will have to supply details. I am only putting in commentary for deceased members for privacy. However, it would be much more valuable if this data were there, so send me a write -up. Every time I talk to a new family member I find some error in my previous knowledge so do not take everything as gospel. Also I cannot type or spell so please report errors.
