The XSchema project is a cooperative effort, based on the xml-dev mailing list. XSchema is not intended to compete with proposals from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the standards body that has created and continues to develop XML. We hope that this proposal will provide some foundations for future W3C developments, but keep in mind that this is not a W3C-sanctioned process.
