We lived in Waco before it was a household word, before it was an adjective or a verb or a battle cry, when people from outside Texas (and inside, too) frequently pronounced it "Wacko" without intending to make a statement.

the grisly murder of three young people in a case of mistaken identity. One
of the killers, David Wayne Spence, was executed last year for his part in
the killing. His two accomplices are serving life prison terms, but the man
who planned the crime, was released on appeal and has left the United
