The 2 primary highways to access the Sipsey Wilderness are
State Highway 195 and State Highway 33, via Winston County Highway 60/Lawrence County 6
(Cranal Road). There is a nice day-use picnic area with hiking trails where Co. Hwy. 60/6
crosses the Sipsey River. Another popular scenic area is Kinlock Falls, which the gravel
road passes enroute to the wilderness area. The
Area Trails Map shows the hiking trails on the USGS
topographic map. Please use the Bee Branch quad map when hiking this area. It can be
purchased at most outdoor shops in Alabama, or ordered directly from the United States Geological Survey office in
Denver, CO.. |
