| Welcome to Kid-At-Heart Farm! I began raising goats in 1992 when I purchased
my first goat at our local stock sale. Soon after that I decided I wanted
to raise registered goats and my breed of choice (not that I don't like them
all) was the Nubian. Something about those long ears just reached out and
wrapped around my heart. Anyway since that time I've raised only Nubians,
that is until last year when another breed grabbed my attention and I bought
a Boer buck and started crossing. I like the crosses I got this year and
am looking forward to a repeat in January.
My herd has been enrolled in the volunteer scrapie certification program
since August 14, 2000 and this year would have made my 5th year in the program
giving me scrapie free certification status. However I found a doe I just
thought I couldn't live without, unfortunately she came from of a herd that
is not enrolled in the program. My new date to complete certification now
is 2009.
